There is nothing wrong with using mobility aids SOMETIMES. There is nothing wrong with getting up from your wheelchair, having a walk or a stretch, or using a walking stick WHEN you need to 💜 I made this reel in a super light hearted way, and then I just woke up to a load of comments on my TIKTOK from some ableist kn0b (see my stories lol) and now I’m all fired up. 😠 How dare people look at another person and judge wether or not they need their wheelchair or walking stick. What the hell is wrong with people!!! Ughhhhhh!! I could go on (and on and on) but fack it. I hope you enjoy my magic trick 🤪😂 💜💜💜 #AmbulatoryWheelchairUser #AmbulatoryWheelchairUsersExist #WheelchairLife #WheelchairGirl #WheelchairUser #WheelchairModel #WheelchairFashion #WheelchairDontCare #InvisibleDisability #InvisibleIllness #InvisibleIllnessWarrior #ChronicIllnessAwareness #HiddenDisability #DisabilityAdvocate #DisabilityAdvocacy #DisabledModel #DisabledInfluencer #Chronic #Ableism #AbleismIsTrash #BabeWithAMobilityAid #BabesWithMobilityAids #DisabledAndProud #DisabledAndCute

It's MS Awareness Month and I'm fully aware that having mobility challenges due to MS doesn't mean you can't lead a productive and engaged life! Guilt😞 ⸻ Guilt. Some days, the weight of MS feels unbearable. Terry is a quadriplegic because of multiple sclerosis. But what amazes us every day is how love endures—even through the hardest of times. Terry and Allen have been married for 31 years. That’s not just a milestone—it’s a testament to love, partnership, and grit. People often ask, “How does Terry take care of Allen?” The truth is: emotionally, financially, and in every way that doesn’t require physical strength, Terry does. And Allen? He is a rockstar. After a full day’s work, he comes home and starts another—making dinner, helping with personal care, lifting Terry with the Hoyer Lift, and doing it all with grace and love. Caretaking is not easy. Living with MS is not easy. But somehow, they’ve built a life together that is solid, raw, and real. We share this not for pity—but to shine a light on resilience and to remind anyone reading: love adapts. Love shows up. Love perseveres. Tell us below—how do you deal with adversity? We’d love to hear your story. #MultipleSclerosis #ChronicIllnessWarrior #DisabilityAwareness #LoveIsStronger #CaregiverLife #ResilientTogether #MarriageGoals #LifeWithMS #EmotionalStrength #TwinsCoastToCoast #mswarrior #thisisms #curems #autoimmunedisease #Monday #love #care #resilience #life #multiplesclerosis #love #grace #disabled #babeswithmobilityaids #caregiving

Living that thug life 😎✨😂 What do (or would you) you do when someone blatantly stares at you and judges your disability? - question open to disabled and abled 💜 Think I’m gonna have to start taking these glasses with me everywhere I go 😂 🦽😎🖕🏻✨ [Video description - Alice is in a grocery store. She looks around, gets up from her wheelchair, grabs a box of tea and sits back down. She looks away, and then turns her head back around to camera and is wearing ‘thug life’ glasses and does a knowing nod to camera. She is wearing a grey tee with the slogan ‘Depressee’ on, bright pink shorts, Nike trainers and her hair is half up half down. Her wheelchair has pink spokes and a leopard print wheelchair cushion. ] 🌹 #AmbulatoryWheelchairUser #AmbulatoryWheelchairUsersExist #WheelchairLife #WheelchairGirl #WheelchairUser #WheelchairModel #WheelchairFashion #WheelchairDontCare #InvisibleDisability #InvisibleIllness #InvisibleIllnessWarrior #ChronicIllnessAwareness #HiddenDisability #DisabilityAdvocate #DisabilityAdvocacy #DisabledModel #DisabledInfluencer #Chronic #Ableism #AbleismIsTrash #BabeWithAMobilityAid #BabesWithMobilityAids #DisabledAndProud #DisabledAndCute

Throw back 2024 release and Happy #msawarenessmonth 🧡 I am still so blown away to see how many MS Warriors contributed to this soul project! Everything you see in the 🎥film portion of our video was gathered, edited and produced by yours truly. (Never done this before) 🤍Myself and @kristenspath are truly grateful. This is my love letter to multiple sclerosis for our MS family. THIS IS MS! YOU CAN HAVE MY BODY, BUT YOU’LL NEVER HAVE MY SOUL! This project was produced, directed and funded by myself and my partner in music and Mother @kristenspath and are so grateful to see the impact it has already made on the MS Community. Let’s continue to break barriers for disabled artists! Thank you Lord, for blessing me with MS. #blessedwithms 💿 Never Have My Soul by 8:28⁣ All proceeds benefit NMSS⁣ 𝘄𝘄𝘄.𝗮𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗺𝘀.𝗰𝗼𝗺⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #keynotespeaker #msadvocate #msactivist #mssociety #msfighter #spoonie #wontstopcantstop #multiplesclerosisawareness #invisibleillness #determinedtosucceed #spooniecommunity #thisisms #disabilityinclusion #mswarrior #chronicallyill #multiplesclerosisfighter #multiplesclerosis #disabilityawareness #chronicillness #sick #mswontstopus #motivation #invisibledisability #disabilitypridemonth #chronicfatigue #disabilities #spoonielife #babeswithmobilityaids⁣

I rented a mobility scooter and I'm so excited! This doesn't really solve the problem of my wheelchair being difficult and not well suited to me, but it'll give me more independence and freedom to move around more comfortably locally. Reminder that if you're wondering if a mobility aid might help you, then you've probably needed one for a while already x The video transcript is in the comments. #BabesWithMobilityAids #Disability #ChronicIllness #MECFS #POTS

💬 "Disability doesn’t make things awkward… people’s reactions do!" Hi, I'm Jasmin, and I'm sick and tired of being treated differently because of my disability. That's why I choose Hireup support workers who get it, back me up when I need, and let me speak for myself 🗣️ I may have a supporting cast, but I'm still the main character." – Jasmin from @babeswithmobilityaids 💙 #Ad #Hireup #BabesWithMobilityAids #SupportWork #NDIS

Some more dynamic disability awareness coming at you. I talk about this a lot but it’s only because it deeply impacts my life and the lives of so many other disabled people. I have friends who have been harassed in public for standing out of wheelchairs to grab something, for not being “consistent” in their mobility aid usage, for not “looking disabled enough” to park in that spot, etc etc. I have my own stories about how afraid I am to stand from the car in an accessible parking spot or walk two steps from my wheelchair to my seat at the cinema. There are too many examples of disabled people being made to feel like fakers because our disability doesn’t look the way people expect it to look. And it all boils down to people having a very narrow view of disability and being offended when they see a disabled person not meet their strict criteria. People often wrongly think they’re standing up for “real” disabled people in these situations when really they’re just making real disabled people scared and embarrassed to be ourselves. So I’m here to remind you that disability is so much more than you probably think it is. This shit is complex. Disability doesn’t look the same for everyone, and lots of times it looks different each day for the same person. That may be confusing for you (hell it sometimes confuses me and I’m living it every day) but you don’t have to fully understand it to respect it (and to leave us alone). Video description: A time lapse video of Lisa wheeling around a house in her powerchair, making coffee and then standing out of her chair to sit on the couch to read a book. At the top of the screen is the text: I have a dynamic disability. That means my symptoms change a lot. It’s common for me to use a variety of mobility aids (or not use one at all when I’m at home). Sometimes I use a mobility aid because I can’t get around without it. And sometimes I use it as a preventative tool. So this is just a reminder that disability is complex. We aren’t faking it when we switch up our mobility aids or stand from our wheelchair. We’re just using the tools that we need to get around in a way that works for us.
