Babies who burp sleep longer. I know it’s soo tempting to just let them stay cozy and unbothered after a feed - but if they don’t burp first, they’ll likely wake prematurely due to abdominal discomfort. And then you might mistake that for hunger. 😬 …Likely feed them again. And then (once again) skip the burp to keep them cozy and unbothered. Do you see how this can become a difficult/painful cycle? Instead, try these moves/positions to peacefully burp your baby without disturbing them after they feed. Follow for more burping, gas relief, and tips to soothe your baby! Have you tried these out? Maybe you do them intuitively. Let me know if it helps your baby sleep in longer stretches! #firsttimeparents #colickybaby #burpingtips #babysleeptips #babytips

If your baby has a flat spot on the back of their head, here’s an easy method to help! Roll up a small towel or blanket and gently place it under your baby’s neck while they are awake and supervised. This helps relieve pressure from the back of their skull and encourages head movement in all directions. ⚠️ Important: Never use this method during naps or bedtime when your baby is unsupervised. Safety first! This tip is a part of my program “Back Arching and Flat Head” which contains all the best practice exercises and positioning tips according to Danish Health Standards. Comment “ARCH” for link! With love, Maria ♥️ #FlatHeadPrevention #BabyTips #tummytime

Midline Magic ✨ As a pediatric OT, I love this simple activity for 2 months+! It’s a great way to start to help baby find midline! What is the “Midline”? The midline is an imaginary line down the center of the body that separates the left side from the right. When your baby plays at the midline, they are literally building a bridge in their brain called the corpus callosum. The corpus callosum is a thick band of nerve fibers that connects the left and right hemispheres of the brain. It allows both sides of the brain to “talk” to each other. ⭐️This leads to better coordination, improved sensory processing, and the foundation for future skills like rolling, reaching, crawling, etc. I also love the o-ball for this!! 🔗Comment “newborn” for a list of all my favorite toys for newborns as a pediatric OT! #newmom #babytips #babyplayideas #newborn
