Er staat niet alleen winst/verlies/prestatie/plezier op het spel, maar bovenal een gezonde ontwikkeling op en naast de fiets. Te veel jeugdwielrenners rijden rond met verkeerde componenten wat kan leiden tot overbelasting en andere serieuze klachten. Bij Skylar hebben we dit alles grondig aangepakt! Part 2/3 - Overcompensating for long cranks. This is a fine example of what I regularly see with cranks too long in self setup - the saddle being set way too high to help feel like you’ve got space to come over the top of the pedal stroke. A saddle too high, over extending your legs can cause any issues, in this case, disrupting the flow of the pedal stroke through the full rotation, snatching a the bottom of the pedal stroke, overstretching the full length of the posterior chain. Common symptoms this can cause: • Pain anywhere from your feet to your neck and shoulders • Sitting too far forwards on the saddle to relieve tension, increasing likelihood of saddle discomfort and instability • A reduction in power/efficiency • A lower than optimal cadence • Core muscles disengaged • Your upper body weight bracing against the handlebars • Your weight distribution being tipped over the front of the bike • Constant tension in shoulders, neck and arms, making it difficult to maintain vision ahead • Pulling hands back away from the hoods to sit more upright • Issues with bike handling, less confidence in corners and being able to take hands off the bars with control It’s always a nice marker seeing big increases in natural cadence selection through a bike fit. I expect to see cadence to increase by 2-3rpm per 5mm crank length change - this is what happens to make up the lost angular distance in the length of the pedal stroke to equalise power output from the “lost leverage”, but power/efficiency is much more than the amount of torque you can put through the pedals. A longer pedal stroke = more energy needed to cover the full rotation of the pedal stroke. But it this case, cadence has increased drastically from the baseline once we get the flow of the pedal stroke within the riders individual functional ranges, giving a nice sign of an increase in pedalling efficiency. #bikefit #bikefitting #cycling #soigneurlondon #soigneur

Desde la frase de Tom Doumolin cuando otrora ya Tadej ganaba su primer TDF a un Roglic con el casco gardeliado: “como un tipo que pedalea como un minero nos va ganar así?” se acentúa el interés por las peculiaridades de su postura ciclística. Está claro que los análisis a través de un video en pantalla pueden tener su sesgos, pero este video especialmente, en slow motion y un plano lateral casi perfecto, le permitió a muchos softwares de biomecánica sacar sus conclusiones, en nuestro caso, nos llamó mucho la atención el realizado por @myvelofit software que ya nos acompaña hace dos años y que podemos decir que es una garantía de precisión, el cual mostró lo que ya sospechábamos biomecánicos y geeks del ciclismo: Pogui está bajo en el asiento. Esto no es una crítica, ha ganado todo así, pero está claro también que pocos ciclistas en el pelotón llevan dicha extensión, aspecto que nos llama mucho la atención. La mayoría de recreativos no podrían tolerar tal adelantamiento de la rodilla y el estrés que produce el cuádriceps al la rótula, muchos ciclistas que nos visitan con estos ángulos, narran dolor en su rodilla. Cada ciclista merece un análisis individual, no deberías copiar la posición de Pogui ni de ningún ciclista, las herramientas están a la mano, un análisis biomecánico podría cambiar tu ciclismo positivamente para siempre. #Bikefit #pogacar #biomecanica #ciclismomedellin #ciclismocolombiano

Y su relación con tu cuerpo define algo clave: tu baricentro. En MTB, esto es aún más crítico que en carretera. 🔍 Qué significa estar bien baricentrado Cuando el baricentro está correctamente alineado: ➡️ El peso se reparte entre sillín, pedales y manillar ➡️ El cuerpo se sostiene sin colapsar ➡️ La bici se mueve contigo, no contra ti ➡️ La transmisión de fuerza es más directa y eficiente El ciclista y la bicicleta funcionan como una sola unidad. ⚠️ Qué pasa cuando el baricentro está mal posicionado ❌ Exceso de carga en brazos ❌ Pérdida de control en descensos ❌ Menor eficiencia al pedalear ❌ Fatiga prematura ❌ Menor estabilidad en zonas técnicas En MTB, un mal baricentro no solo reduce el rendimiento. Reduce el control. 🧠 La clave biomecánica real No se trata solo de altura de sillín. Ni de longitud de potencia. Ni de bajar o subir el manillar. Se trata de dónde cae tu masa respecto al eje del pedalier.
