FILM TO TABLE “TV EDITION” EP 8: Biscuits from season 4 of Bridgerton 🌹🥲 the way that I sobbed watching this episode! (I Made my biscuits about 3 1/2 inches wide so I got about 13 biscuits out of this dough) INGREDIENTS Dry: 4 cups all purpose flour (500 g) 4 tbsp cornstarch (32 g) 1 tsp salt (6 g) 2 tsp ground ginger (4 g) 1 tsp cinnamon (2.5 g) Pinch nutmeg (optional) Wet: 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened (340 g) 1 cup brown sugar (200 g) 4 tbsp treacle or molasses (60 ml) 2 tsp vanilla extract (10 ml) I used @nielsenmassey INSTRUCTIONS 1. Cream butter and brown sugar until smooth and slightly fluffy. 2. Mix in treacle and vanilla until combined. 3. Add dry ingredients and mix into a firm dough. Dough should feel like soft playdough, not sticky. 4. Wrap and chill 45 to 60 minutes (or overnight). 5. Roll dough to 3/8 inch thick. 6. Dust mold with powdered sugar or flour and press dough firmly into mold. Trim and release. 7. Let molded cookies air dry uncovered 45 to 60 minutes. 8. Chill 20 minutes (or freeze 10 to 15 minutes). 9. Bake at 325 F for 14 to 17 minutes until edges are lightly golden. 10. You really can’t beat a good homemade biscuit 🔥 Ingredients: •2 cups self rising flour •1 stick butter (cold) •1 cup buttermilk (cold) Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 425. Add self rising flour to a large bowl then grate in your cold butter. Mix it into the flour using a fork until it looks crumbly. 2. Next, pour in your buttermilk and gently mix until a dough forms. You may see some crumbles that isn’t incorporated but that’s ok. 3. Flour your cleaned surface and dump dough and any dough crumbles onto the surface. Use your hands (flour hands first) to work the dough by bringing it together. If it’s a little sticky or has wet spots, just LIGHTLY sprinkle a LITTLE flour on top so it’s easier to work with. Then pat or roll it out. Fold and press it over itself 4-6 times. Feel free to pat or roll it out again and repeat the process to create more layers. 4. Pat or roll the dough out one more time. Use a cup or biscuit cutter to cut out your biscuits (make sure to flour it first so it won’t stick). If you notice you have extra dough left after cutting your first round of biscuits, gently bring it back together, roll or pat it out again, and cut out a few more biscuits. 5. Place each biscuit on your prepared baking pan and make sure they’re touching each other and/or the sides of the pan. Brush the top with egg wash (1 egg and a dash of water) and bake for 14-16 minutes or until they’re golden brown. Top it off with more butter or honey butter. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 GINGER BISCUITS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 These were my favourite biscuits to make when I was a wee girl. I’ve changed the recipe a bit but it came from an old card that I found mum‘s recipe book. Sometimes you just can’t beat the simplicity of a simple biscuit fragranced just with the beautiful scent of ginger. Makes 25 biscuits 400 g plain flour 200 g soft brown sugar 200 g unsalted butter 2 tablespoons milk powder (optional) 200 g golden syrup Two large eggs Pinch of salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon bicarb soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons ginger powder Flaky salt for sprinkling Start by melting your butter with 2 tablespoons of milk powder (if you’re using that) in a saucepan till nutty and brown. Stir through the golden syrup and add the vanilla paste. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients, the plain flour, brown sugar, pinch of salt, bicarbonate soda, baking powder and the ginger powder. Combine them well and then pour in the butter and syrup mixture, stir a little, then add the beaten eggs. Stir thoroughly until it forms a soft dough. I use little cookie scoop but you could use a tablespoon as well to create the balls of dough mixture chill them in the fridge for a while till they firm up a bit, then taking each one, roll between the palms of your hands into little balls and space out on baking sheets. I did about five per sheet because they only take 10 minutes in the oven and you can do two sheets at a time. Preheat the oven to 180° and bake. If you’d like a crisper biscuit bake for a little longer but keep your eye on them. These keep really well and are really simple and delicious. You can add chocolate chips if you like or even some crystallised ginger for more texture. #gingerbiscuits #ginger #biscuits #cookies #easyrecipe

our one and only Anzac Biscuit recipe 🍪 are you team crunchy, chewy or soft?! save this to make them on saturday ingredients ✍️ makes 24 1 cup plain flour 1 1/4 cups rolled oats 3/4 cup desiccated coconut 3/4 cup caster sugar 125g butter 1/3 golden syrup 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 2 tbsp boiling water method ✍️ 1. preheat the oven to 160 degrees celsius. line a tray with baking paper. 2. in a large bowl, mix together the plain flour, rolled oats, desiccated coconut and caster sugar. 3. place a small pot over medium heat and add the butter and golden syrup. cook until melted. 4. mix the bi carb soda and boiling water, then add to the pot. 5. turn off heat and mix well. be careful, it will be frothy and hot. 6. pour the golden syrup mixture into the dry ingredients and mix to combine. 7. roll tablespoons of the mixture into balls and place onto the tray. 8. squish to flatten each ball slightly. 9. for a soft texture, bake for 8 minutes, for chewy, bake for 12 minutes and for crunchy, bake for 15 minutes. 10. cool on the tray for 10 minutes, then enjoy. store in an airtight container. #anzacbiscuits #anzac #biscuits #baking #australia
