WELLNESS CHAT. 💭 Does anyone have any tips on how to break this cycle? I feel like maybe I need to go back to the why behind prioritizing my wellness and ask myself when I do prioritize it, what is my motivator? But honestly I’m at a loss and with each year I get older (especially post pandemic) I really struggle to find consistency in prioritizing my wellness. I feel like I almost go overboard when I am having an “on week” where I’ll do the most - good sleep, exercise, eating right, skincare routine etc and then the next it all hits the fan. 🫶 I’m giving myself grace (as should you) but very curious if anyone else struggles with this?? This man has not made much of an appearance in my grid, but is a big part of my life and who I am today. This is my husband, Richard! We have grown in many ways over our 20 years together, and although, as to be expected, we have both changed in many ways over time, one of the things I have always loved about him is his integrity and his dedication to helping people find their voice. He helps people learn how to understand and use their body language in a way that will support their message. His goal has always been to lift others up and in so doing change the world. In this reel of @richardnewmanspeaks on the @nimai_delgado podcast I am proud to share him talking about the importance of non-verbal communication. He lived with Tibetan monks in the Himalayas before we met, and he discovered amongst many things that how we communicate comes from so much more than words. What we say of course matters a great deal. But it is often how we say it that sticks with people the most. This is true of relationships with family, friends and work colleagues but I have also found this to be true with my patients. Acting and speaking from a place of compassion or from a place of confidence rather than from a place of cynicism or self doubt can change not only our interactions in that moment, but also potentially our very life course. No. But to me it felt like a real win for our community. Acknowledgment I don’t think I ever thought would come. Weight gain, Depression, Anxiety, Anger Outbursts, Diabetes and Heart Disease are but a few ‘dreams’ of your body you may begin to experience. Many people are fascinated with their dreaming mind when asleep and want to know the meaning and the message behind them. But then ignore physical sensations and messages from their body when they are awake. The question comes - How awake are you? Are you awake in your body?
