SII stand here, sharing my beloved late mother-in-law’s library for World Book Day.
I love that she kept her books, piled high, all over the house, shared them, discussed them, treasured them.
Books spoke to her heart, conveyed a sense of place or a moment in time, sometimes light, others deep, instructive or Holy.
I stand here looking at her through the books she loved, read or even wrote as we prepare, this year, to clear her belongings from this very loved and lived-in family home.
She had an innate ability to connect people through stories. She was passionately curious about everything- and most of all about people. She welcomed anyone and everyone into her world, sharing thoughts, ideas, and love.
As we embark on this bittersweet journey of clearing her house, I am reminded that this is not just a farewell but a transition, a new chapter for our family.
While we may be sorting through her belongings, we are also preserving her spirit. Each book we choose to keep, gift, or donate holds a little part of her, ensuring that she remains alive in the stories we tell and the lives we lead.
As we move forward, we carry her legacy with us.

My biggest job in this world as a mum is to make sure my babies feel like they can be exactly who they want to be.
We LOVE crafting and they LOVE dressing up, so World Book Day is literally as big as Christmas in our house. They plan outfits throughout the year and look forward to it every step of the way.
This is our last ever World Book Day and we feel super sad, but we’ve enjoyed every single costume from teeny tiny to today.
To all the mums and dads out there - I salute you. Another year done.. Glue guns away. We did it.
