I have been using and making interactive and adaptive books for years. I love how engaging they are and really they are easy to make. You don’t need fancy software, you just need powerpoint or keynote! My tips for using books like these ➡️A separate page to store the symbols (you can always make one yourself if it doesn’t have one). This makes using the book so much easier (because you don’t have to take all of the pieces of the page before you read it every time. ➡️Visuals for language expansion. Most of my books come with these already, but you could easily make them tailored to your needs (in this book I had visuals for “I like it vs. I don’t like it” “sweet or salty” “type of food category” etc… This allows an easy way with visual support to talk more about the food on each page. ➡️Not a lot of distracting backgrounds. I like clean backgrounds so the focus can be on the picture. Anyways if you don’t want to make them, I have made several different series of print & make books for you. The one in the picture is from my Real Photo line. Check them out in my TPT store or on my website under the “Functional Vocabulary Books” category. these books are very affordable because they are print & make. Don’t have time to make them? Assigning students boom cards based on their individual needs is a great way to differentiate and provide students with the skill they need and change up the way it’s presented. Also, my students love them as they “ding” when you get the right answer and provide instant feedback. They also like to beat their score from the previous time. Boom cards also track the students data for you and you can assign different boom cards for different students!! 🙌🏽

I find that knowing basic verbs is the key to understanding and being able to communicate in another language. If you understand the verb in a sentence, you can usually get an idea of what's going on - whether it be in a conversation or in a reading passage. However, I often found that many of my students didn't know the meanings of the most common 50 verbs so I created these Boom Cards to help them review. Makes such a huge difference in their overall language comprehension! They're scaffolded so students learn to recognize the verbs, associate the verb with the photo, and then eventually write the verb, and use it in context. Try them and you'll see why Boom Cards are my favorite language learning tool.
