Off-Grid Innovation: The site is fully equipped with custom networks and off-grid power, allowing for 100% remote operation of their advanced telescope systems. Bigger isn’t always better for stargazing binoculars! Even little 10x60 ones are fine! Light enough to hold for long periods but powerful enough to see the craters of the moon, star clusters and nebulae. No joke, a guest on a tour last week found something in the sky I’d never seen before using these binoculars - the wishing well cluster! Which was freaking awesome when we then looked at it through the telescope! This has inspired me to invest in more pairs of binoculars so all guests can find new stuff for us to look at each night we’re out stargazing. This goes to show you don’t need the fanciest gear to see cool stuff in the sky. The right dark setting, a bit of guidance and a telescope does help though, which I offer on my night sky tours. Spots still available on this Saturday night’s tour at @oscarsontheyarra and the sky is looking clear for it. Link in bio 🤝

Light pollution outshines all the details in our Milky Way, making it much harder to see in locations where light pollution is heavy. It also makes it harder for astrophotographers to capture objects as they appear very washed out! Did you manage to notice ETA Carina in the Bortle 4 image?
