And more often than not, that has nothing to do with the temperature, and everything to do with how I’ve been living. Poor sleep Stress Rushed days Off track with food Over time this becomes a barometer. A way to check in. Knowing when to lean in… And when to pull back Training in the ice when I’m well, definitely makes those challenging days or weeks easier to deal though. The work you do when you feel good, carries you through when you don’t.

📌TOP TIPS to master cold water recovery EVEN WHEN YOU HATE IT. 🥶 Perfect for athletes and public speaking stress training. ... 1️⃣ Only use your D-spot or R-spots - none of this anxiety inducing upper chest nonsense 😉 2️⃣ Calm yourself before you get in, then exhale for 10 seconds as quietly as possible through your nose as you immerse or step under a shower. 3️⃣ Imagine the intensity of a hot bath on your skin, yet you know it will make you feel good, so you embrace it. Now, flip that mindset to the same intensity felt by the cold water. It is also good for you in moderation. 4️⃣ Keep your breathing calm, slow and quiet with your tongue in the N-spot. (See my free video for tongue training on my website free help section). ... Some clients visit me for a multi-hour training session, and this can include the spa where we use sauna and cold water to improve how they breathe during stress and intense recovery. This fortnight, I have clients coming from Los Angeles, Scottish Highlands & London for these intense in person sessions. But I want more of you to learn and try this. Let me know how you get on with these tips in the comments or via DMs. (Why not try a 20 second cold shower once you feel warm?) [Ladies, look into cold water variation, as there are a number of people suggesting less cold water (e.g. 11 vs 4 degrees) works better for women and it can vary with your cycle].
