CAMEET DOTTY & DOM; These two have bred here over the last two years (met them in 2025, saw photos of Dotty's obvious chest from 2024).. sadly they were one of the pairs who had their nests destroyed by Alexandra Palace staff.
They are quite agitated, and are nothing like when I met them beforehand. They were not hissy or irritable at all beforehand, even when they had young last year. (At least towards me; and I didn't even know them that well)
There is one visible, discarded egg, just laying where their nest used to be.
Miracle? Probably not.
These two appeared on this page last September, with a Greylag bullying them and their two goslings.
What I also discovered is Dotty is a zig-zag chinstrap just like the Kenwood Family (who have produced close to 30 of these) and Jewel who is also on this lake.
I've definitely never seen Dotty's chest on Hampstead Heath, so if she is from the family it's from before I started tracking them. But, some of the family would have gone on to have their own goslings and potentially passed down the markings (i.e. Courage, born '23 currently nesting in Regent's Park).
With the proximity of Alexandra Palace and Kenwood I wouldn't be surprised if it was no coincidence, but who knows!
