Astronauts train for the unexpected. In this vlog from the @canadianspaceagency, astronaut @astrojeremy explains how crews prepare for emergencies, including launch pad evacuations, abort systems that can pull a capsule away from a rocket, and the survival equipment used after landing. NASA’s latest Flight Readiness Review clears Artemis II for liftoff as early as April 1, and the SLS rocket is scheduled to be rolled out to the launch pad on March 19. Follow for more Artemis II updates. Preparation and practice help ensure astronauts are ready to respond quickly when it matters most. 🌎✨ 📹: @canadianspaceagency #SpaceExploration #AstronautTraining #CanadianSpaceAgency

Astronauts on NASA’s Artemis II mission will spend about 10 days living inside the Orion spacecraft, a small, tightly packed capsule. Daily life is basic — sleeping bags attached to walls, packaged meals and no showers — making it feel more like high-tech camping than a typical living space. How will the crew adapt to the tight space? Read more through the link in our bio. Tune in for our Instagram Live Wednesday ahead of the Artemis II launch. 📝: Andrea Leinfelder / space reporter 🎨: Ken Ellis (graphics) / designer 💻️: Alexandria A. All systems GO! The most powerful vehicle to ever carry humans is scheduled to blast-off Wed on NASA’s Artemis-2 mission, to send 4 astronauts around the moon. Apollo proved we could go to the moon. Artemis will prove we can stay. The crew is ready, their vehicle is ready, the launch team is ready and the clock is ticking towards a liftoff at 6:24pm Wednesday. Weather is 80% GO. They have a 2-hour window to launch, and when they do they will push the Earth away on nearly 9 million pounds of thrust 🚀 It has been an amazing few months at Kennedy covering the launch campaign, enjoy some of my views 📸🎥 #Artemis #NASA #launch #news #space

NASA is increasing the cadence of future Artemis missions. 🔔Follow: @inspiredstarlab for more! The Artemis III mission, now in 2027, will be designed to test out systems and operational capabilities in low Earth orbit as preparation for an Artemis IV landing in 2028. This new mission will endeavor to include a rendezvous and docking with one or both commercial landers from SpaceX and Blue Origin. This change will accelerate the flight rate of the Artemis missions and enable a safer and more reliable launch cadence. There will be no changes to the Artemis II mission. In this video, we see a timelapse of the Artemis II rocket and spacecraft rolling back to the Vehicle Assembly Building at @NASAKennedy atop of the crawler-transporter on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Teams will conduct work and repairs on the Artemis II vehicle before returning it to Launch Pad 39B to launch on its crewed mission around the Moon no earlier than April 2026. ARTEMIS II LAUNCH 🚀 Ahead of the planned launch of the NASA Artemis II mission, former NASA astronaut Doug Hurley shares advice for what the crew can experience during their trip around the moon. Hurley knows firsthand the anticipation of flying to space. He flew on the historic SpaceX Demo 2 mission to the International Space Station, the first commercial crew flight. He was also a pilot of STS 135 which flew the final flight of the Space Shuttle program in 2011. “It really is a myriad of experiences, it really is a blur in some cases, and hopefully they are taking it all in and get to enjoy the moment as they live it,” Hurley said. Artemis II update from NASA’s press conference today and it was a lot... TLDR: 🚀 All Artemis II flight readiness teams polled GO 🚀 Rollout targeting March 19 (same day as @projecthailmary release) 🚀 Launch window opens April 1 (DAYTIME LAUNCH!!) 🚀 April 2 now added to launch window which ends 4/6 👀 No wet dress rehearsal before the first launch attempt 👀 No launch windows announced after April NASA fixed the helium flow issue on the upper stage and work continues inside the VAB as teams prep for rollout. This is the first crewed mission around the Moon since Apollo, and arguably the most important human spaceflight of our generation. So of course there is going to be conversation about risk. But the rule still stands: We go when it’s safe. 🎥 @cosmic__rosie #ArtemisII #SLS #NASA #MoonMission #HumanSpaceflight

ARTEMIS II MISSION 🚀 Offering plenty of space for four crewmembers to work and live on board, the Orion spacecraft was designed to carry astronauts to the moon, and eventually deep space destinations. The state-of-the-art vessel was built through a joint effort between Lockheed Martin and the European Space Agency. The spacecraft provides life support, avionics, power, and the all-important thermal protection system that will ward off space radiation and the intense heat of re-entering Earth’s atmosphere. Rollout time! 🚀 The Space Launch System (SLS), with the Orion spacecraft on top, is rolling out from the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The massive rocket is slowly carried to the launch pad by a Crawler-Transporter, preparing for the next step toward the Artemis II mission. This historic rollout marks another milestone as teams move closer to sending astronauts around the Moon and advancing humanity’s return to deep space. 🌕🚀 #NASA #ArtemisII #SLS #Orion #MoonMission SpaceExploration

On March 20, 2026, at 11:21 a.m. EDT, NASA's Artemis II mission reached a key milestone when the fully stacked Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft arrived at Launch Complex 39B (Pad 39B) at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Secured atop the mobile launcher and carried by the massive Crawler-Transporter 2, the 322-foot-tall vehicle completed an approximately 11-hour, 4-mile journey from the Vehicle Assembly Building. The rollout, which began around 12:20 a.m. after a brief delay due to high winds, marked the rocket's return to the historic pad following maintenance inside the VAB. This positioning prepares the vehicle and ground systems for final pre-launch activities ahead of a targeted launch window opening as early as April 1, 2026. Artemis II will send four astronauts—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen—on humanity's first crewed flight around the Moon in over 50 years. The slow procession at a maximum speed of about 0.82 mph underscored the careful handling required for this towering stack, setting the stage for the next chapter in NASA's Artemis program.
