Just last week, the team held the groundbreaking ceremony, marking the official start of work on the long-awaited soccer-specific stadium.
Crews have already begun early construction at the site, with more activity expected to ramp up in the coming months.
The stadium is expected to open in time for the 2028 season, becoming the future home of Chicago Fire FC!

BOThe new Chicago Fire soccer stadium broke ground this week, and it’s raising a critical question for Chicago: How should the city handle private developments near communities vulnerable to displacement?
The $750 million stadium will be privately funded by Fire owner Joe Mansueto and will be built at The 78, a huge plot of empty land in the South Loop. The 78 is directly north of Ping Tom Park and Chinatown.
Alongside the stadium, developer Related Midwest says it’ll also build affordable housing on the site and create other public benefits, such as green space and additional job opportunities.
But some locals are still worried the stadium and surrounding development will displace residents from Chinatown, Bridgeport and other surrounding neighborhoods.
