The year was 1997. I had just joined @mtvindia as a fledgeling presenter after having won the first MTV VJ hunt. I got a call from my producer, Seher Bedi ( @theseherbedi ) asking me to show up at Dev Anand Studios in Pali Hill, Bandra (it’s now an apartment block called ‘Anand’ sitting on top or zig zag road.) It was the very first MTV interview I had ever done and the artists I had to interview were Code Red (from the UK), and the inimitable Asha Bhosle, who had just done this song together. It’s the only personal memory I have of Asha-ji and to me, it’s a special one.
