The 3-Step Hack: 1️⃣ Pay the Debt First: Subtract the minimum requirements from the total. Total needed = 1 + 3 + 4 = 8. New Total (n) = 21 - 8 = 13. Now the problem becomes: X + Y + Z = 13 (where variables >= 0). 2️⃣ Use the Magic Formula: Formula: (n + r - 1)C(r - 1) • n = 13 (remaining coins) • r = 3 (number of variables) 3️⃣ Calculate: (13 + 3 - 1)C(3 - 1) = 15C2 = (15 * 14) / 2 = 15 * 7 = 105 ✅ The answer is 105. 💡 Pro Tip: Always subtract the sum of constraints from the RHS first.
