After I was put in avail, production asked if I could change my hair…the answer was no because it was a commercial. BUT my manager did send photos of me in a wig, and they booked me!
I often get asked if my hair has prevented me from landing roles and I’m sure it has! But my reps submit my wig headshots and I’ll do auditions in my wigs when it’s more fitting.
If you known me for a while, you know I’ve had colorful hair for almost a decade. It feels like me! And I believe that my hair has also helped me book as much as it might’ve prevented me from booking.
In the end, I’ll change my hair if it’s mandatory for a job that I really want. Duh!
And at some point in the future, I’m sure I’ll want to change my hair…as well as all of my headshots.
But for now, this is me!
And I truly believe that casting knows that if you’re right for a role, you’re right for the role.
I focus on my craft and what’s in my control, and let the universe do the rest!
