In 1917, Albert Einstein applied his theory of gravity to the entire cosmos, opening the possibility that the universe could be finite yet unbounded or perhaps infinite beyond all measure. That idea reshaped our sense of reality. The universe may have no edge, no boundary where space simply stops. Like the surface of a sphere extended into higher dimensions, it could continue without end, allowing motion forever without reaching a limit. Or it may be truly infinite, extending endlessly in every direction, containing regions forever beyond our observation. What we can see is only a portion defined by light’s journey through time. Beyond that horizon, space continues unknown, unreachable, and possibly without limit. Infinity is not a distant concept. It may be the structure of existence itself. And in the video, Brian Cox reflects on this profound possibility, revealing how the universe may not simply be vast but fundamentally unending. 🌌✨ Speaker: @profbriancox #space #universe #astronomy #earth #cosmos SPACE SCIENCE

When you look at the stars in the night sky, you’re not seeing them as they are today. Light takes time to travel through space. Some stars are so far away that their light takes years, centuries, or even millions of years to reach Earth. So when you look up at the sky, you’re not just looking across space — you’re looking back in time. Distances in space are measured in Light-year, which is the distance light travels in one year. That’s why the universe we see is actually the universe from the past. The night sky is like a cosmic time machine. 🌌 #space #universe #cosmos #astronomy #spacefacts

Neil deGrasse Tyson explains a simple way to test whether the Earth is flat or curved. If several people stand at different heights in a tall building and watch the sunset, the people higher up will see the Sun for longer. On a flat Earth, everyone would see the sunset disappear at the same time. But because the Earth is curved, the horizon changes depending on your height — which is why the person on the roof sees the Sun last. You don’t need complicated science. You can test it yourself. #science #space #earth #astronomy #physics #cosmos #flatearth #flatearth #sciencefacts #neildegrassetyson #universe #spacefacts #criticalthinking #reels #explore #viral #learnsomething

From Imagination to Reality — Black Hole Journey 🌀 1978: Scientists could only illustrate what a black hole might look like, using physics and mathematical predictions to visualize the invisible. 🎬 2014: The movie Interstellar stunned the world with one of the most scientifically accurate simulations ever created, turning theory into breathtaking imagery. 📡 2019: For the first time in history, scientists captured a real image of a black hole — proving that these cosmic giants were not just theoretical objects, but real structures shaping our universe. ⚡ 2024: Astronomers revealed the swirling magnetic fields around a black hole, giving us an even deeper look into one of the most extreme environments in existence. #BlackHole #Space #Astronomy #Universe #Cosmos

The average distance between Earth and the Moon is about 384,400 km. When the diameters of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are added together, they total roughly ~380,000 km. This means all seven planets can fit side-by-side within the Earth–Moon distance, with a small amount of space remaining. The exact fit varies slightly because the Moon’s distance changes during its orbit (closer at perigee and farther at apogee). #science #universe #cosmos #facts #knowledge

A physicist was asked what created the Big Bang. His answer had nothing in it. Literally 🌌 Professor Lawrence Krauss, theoretical physicist and author, has spent his career answering the most uncomfortable question in all of science. Why is there something rather than nothing His answer begins with empty space. Empty space, if you get rid of all the particles and all the radiation, that kind of nothing is actually quite complicated. It is not truly empty. Quantum mechanics tells us that empty space seethes with virtual particles, flickering in and out of existence continuously, borrowing energy from nothing and paying it back in fractions of a second Then Krauss adds gravity to the mix. And everything changes Once you include gravity, there is positive energy and negative energy, and our universe appears as if its total energy could be precisely zero. That is the first hint that maybe it could come from nothing. This is the miracle hiding in mathematics. Every galaxy hurtling outward has kinetic energy. But gravity pulling everything together has negative energy. The energy of every galaxy, if you measure their speed and work out the gravitational attraction, the two add up to precisely zero. The universe is the ultimate free lunch. Everything and nothing at the same time Once you apply quantum mechanics to gravity, it is possible, in fact it is implied, that space itself can be created where there was nothing before. Whole universes can pop out of nothing by the laws of quantum mechanics. Nothing is unstable. It will always produce something. And here is the question he leaves you with It could be that the question of what happened before the Big Bang is not even a good question. Because before it had no meaning. Time itself arose just as space arose. There was no before. The question assumes a clock that did not exist yet . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ⬇️Check Caption⬇️ On Miller’s Planet, time flows 61,320 times slower than on Earth due to its proximity to the spinning black hole, Gargantua. • 1 hour on Miller’s Planet = 7 years on Earth. • The planet‘s orbital period is estimated at 1.7 hours, with an age of roughly 200,000 years. Hans Zimmer reflected this in the track Mountains. The ticking sound occurs every 1.25 seconds, which exactly equals one full day passing on Earth. Follow @cosmos.fit_ to witness the future of space. Leaving our galaxy is basically the ultimate challenge because the scale is just too massive for our current tech. Even if we could travel at the speed of light, it would take us over twenty five thousand years just to reach the edge of the Milky Way. Right now our fastest spacecraft are moving at a tiny fraction of that speed, making the journey last millions of years which is way beyond a human lifespan. On top of the distance, we would need to reach an incredible escape velocity to break free from the massive gravitational pull of all the stars and dark matter holding the galaxy together. Until we figure out how to master theoretical concepts like warp drives or wormholes, we are essentially grounded in our own cosmic backyard, watching the rest of the universe from a distance while we wait for a massive breakthrough in physics. #astrophysics #milkyway #spaceexploration #galaxy #cosmos
