TEHow often do we argue because of cultural differences?
It may seem that since I moved here, I’m the one who has to fully adapt to my husband’s culture. But the truth is, in a loving family, both partners try to adapt to each other.
Yes, we do have misunderstandings. Honestly, even after four years, some aspects of Khasi culture are still very hard for me to understand. I’m grateful to my husband — he never expects me to suddenly become a local. Instead, he patiently explains why things are done a certain way here. And if I still don’t understand, he doesn’t pressure me — he gives me time.
And he also adapts to my culture, and I’m really grateful for that. Do you want me to share what culture differences is the most difficult for me to adjust?
