This custom-built bicycle replaces its rear wheel with two separate semi-circles mounted side by side. The halves are timed so precisely that as one leaves the ground, the other makes contact, creating a continuous rolling motion that mimics a full wheel. The front wheel stays standard. The result? A surprisingly smooth ride on flat pavement that genuinely works.
What looks like a joke is actually a functioning proof of concept in mechanical engineering. The timing, the weight distribution, the rhythm of the two halves syncing together mid-ride, all of it has to be dialed in perfectly for this to move without throwing the rider. And it does.
