• hydrate hydrate hydrate
• only trim your end if you have too
• use hair growth oils like rosemary, amla or argan
• keep to your retie schedule and lock that new growth
• be patient, hair typically grows about 1/2 an inch every month

OM👀 the best-kept secret for growing your edges back? microlocs.
✨ before my locs, i got boho knotless braids for the first (and last) time. the hair along my edges has always been more sparse and fine-textured, but they completely DESTROYED my edges and my hair. not to mention, i had breakage all throughout my head, which was painfully obvious when i was getting my microlocs installed.
✨ the truth is, 90% of the time braiders use way too much added hair for your density. that extra weight of extensions causes scalp tension, breakage, traction alopecia, and sometimes permanent hair loss.
✨ microlocs changed everything. they are the ultimate “protective style”. my edges filled in, new locs were added around my perimeter, and my hair feels healthier than ever.

DEWatch with sound on for pros and cons on the two-point microloc interlocking method 💎 The tool that I use was purchased from etsy and is linked in my bio. I 100% recommend - especially if you’re new to retightening or your locs are still maturing.
I’ve been getting questions from DIY microloc girlies on how to do the four and two-point and retightening methods so i’m resharing those videos I posted two years ago.
I was maybe 5 months into my journey at the time i filmed this video 🥹💛 I do miss my coily ends.
I now use the three-point method (Reel on my page), but what I appreciate most about this method is it made self-retieing easier and much quicker. Two points of entry has less opportunity for error than the four-point method. My locks were also less tight and had more volume with this method. I switched to three/point because I got a lot of slippage with this method due to my very active lifestyle.

_NI have trimmed my locs 1-2x/year since ive had them and honestly it makes all the difference in the appearance of my hair! Something about not having stragglers makes your locs look wayy more healthy and full. I only take 1/2inch-1inch off each time and I always love the results ❤️
