THHi friend!!
Okay, so, why should you bother coming to Mass?
Maybe you're not Catholic. Maybe you are Catholic but you haven't been to Mass in a while.
"It's not a holiday- why should I go?"
And the answer is simple: What do you have to lose?
One hour this weekend. That's one TV show. Half of a movie. 1/8 of your typical work day.
The Mass has the ability to transform your life in ways you never even knew that you needed.
Whether you know it or not, and believe it or not, when you enter a Catholic Church for even just that one hour per week, you are in the presence of the God of the Universe.
Do you realize the miracles- the healing, the breakthroughs, the restoration- that Jesus wants to work in you? And He can work with even just that one hour per week.
You don't have to feel "ready." You don't have to know what you're doing. It's okay if you don't say anything and just pray along.
Come in your brokenness. Come with your screaming baby. Come in your questioning. Come in your uncertainty. Come in your overstimulation. Come without fancy clothes. Just come. Show up. Just come to Jesus. Because He's really, truly present.
And nothing else matters when you're home. Saint Augustine once wrote "our hearts are restless, O God, until they rest in you."
Come and give your heart a rest, friend. 🤍
And if you are Catholic and it's just been a while, make an effort to go back to confession before you receive the Eucharist again- Jesus wants to be reconciled with you!!

We love you. Jesus loves you. Come and let your heart rest with Him.

COWhat is the Holy Mass?
If you think it’s JUST about receiving communion, think again. In fact, you can receive communion if you do not go to Mass. This is not to say that receiving the Eucharist in the Holy Mass is not important, as it IS the consummation of the Mass. But the Holy Mass is the Sacrifice of Christ, where calvary is made present to us, it is re-presented. Christ is not sacrificed again, however. And this does not mean that His one Sacrifice was not sufficient (hello Martin Luther). Instead, Catholics believe that we can exercise our baptismal priesthood and unite our own sacrifices (aka offer up our whole selves and life) under Jesus Christ’s, because His sacrifice is enough to cover all.
