We work with a variety of insurance companies that have dental plans some have a bundle of dental vision and hearing together in one plan what is offered in your state will be different than what’s offered in the next state. What we recommend you is gonna be based on what types of procedures you need what your budget is how soon you need care and a variety of other factors. The number one factor is what plant does your dentist accept?

And yes we’re just as frustrated as you are! But this needs to be said simply and clearly. Dental insurance is not true insurance in the way medical insurance is. Medical insurance is designed to protect you from catastrophic, unpredictable expenses. Dental insurance is structured very differently. Most dental plans have a yearly maximum, usually set at $1,000 to $2,000. That cap resets every year and has not meaningfully changed in decades. One crown can use most or all of it. That’s not true risk protection. That’s a coupon. And here’s the part that really causes confusion: what your plan covers has nothing to do with what your teeth actually need. Coverage is based on the contract your employer chose and the limitations written into that policy. Insurance companies can decide what they contribute based on those terms, not on long-term oral health. So when something is “not covered,” it does not mean it isn’t necessary. It means your specific plan does not pay for it. Insurance may help offset cost. But prevention, consistency, and daily habits are what actually determine your dental health. If you want real talk about cavities, crowns, gum disease, Invisalign, and how to keep your teeth for life, join me at @dena_thedentist. #dentalinsurance #oralhealth #dentaltips #cavityprevention #dentistlife

60% of people skip the dentist because of cost. The problem is that dental 'insurance' isn't really insurance at all. It's more like a capped coupon that maxes out at $1,500, a limit that hasn't changed in 38 years. You end up paying $460 in premiums or $485 in cash for routine cleanings and X-rays. And when it comes to major work? You're on your own. The result is that dental clinics struggle to stay profitable while patients get hit with surprise bills. The solution is straightforward: transparent pricing, membership models, and a focus on prevention.

A lot of people assume their plan includes strong dental coverage. Dental works very differently than medical insurance — with limits, waiting periods, and caps most people don’t expect. Here’s what to know before you’re stuck with the bill.

Dental insurance is confusing by design, so here’s the 60 second breakdown 🤯 Most plans have a deductible, a yearly maximum around $1,000 to $2,000, and set coverage levels like 100% for preventive care. And here’s the part many people miss: the insurance company makes the final call on approvals, not your dental office. Save this for your next appointment 🦷 Want more simple breakdowns like this? The sad truth about dental insurance… 🦷 Dental insurance isn’t really “insurance” like medical coverage, it’s more like a savings plan with limits. Most plans haven’t increased their yearly maximums in decades, and they often cover only a portion of treatment. That’s why we help patients understand their benefits and find affordable options for the care they deserve. Your health should never be limited by coverage.

Dental insurance can be confusing — and honestly, sometimes disappointing. Many plans don’t cover what patients expect, change rules mid-year, or leave people surprised by out-of-pocket costs. That’s why Dr. Little spends time even outside the office reviewing options, researching alternatives, and helping patients understand what actually makes sense for their situation. 👉 Is dental insurance still worth it? 👉 Are there better ways to save on your smile? Dental Insurance frustrates us too!  Dental insurance causes significant frustration due to stagnant annual maximums (usually $1000 to $1500) since the 1980s) that fail to cover modern and rising treatment costs.  It functions more as a discount plan than comprehensive insurance. Key issues include high premium-to-benefit ratios, denied claims, long waiting periods, and insurer interference in treatment decisions.  While we are in network with most plans, that doesn't necessarily mean insurance will cover everything.  We do our best to help you wade through all the confusion! #dentalbenefits #dentalinsurance #dentist #affordable #deltadental
