Architects Who Designed Their Homes Some architects go beyond designing for others — they design the spaces they live in. These homes reveal the most intimate layers of their design philosophy. Peter Zumthor (b. 1943, 🇨🇭) A master of atmosphere and materiality, Zumthor designed his home-studio in Haldenstein. Built in 2005, the minimalist concrete volume reflects his obsession with silence, light, and tactile experience — a secluded place for deep thinking and making. Oscar Niemeyer (1907–2012 🇧🇷) In 1953, Niemeyer completed his residence in Canoas, near Rio de Janeiro — a free-form house nestled into the landscape. With sweeping curves, open plans, and a reflective pool, it embodies his lifelong pursuit of sensual modernism and harmony with nature. Le Corbusier (1887–1965, 🇨🇭/🇫🇷) He lived in apartment 24 at rue Nungesser et Coli, on the top two floors of the Immeuble Molitor in Paris — a groundbreaking building he co-designed with Pierre Jeanneret between 1931 and 1934. With its all-glass façade, it was the first glass apartment block in history. Since 2016, it’s part of a UNESCO World Heritage ensemble and was carefully restored in 2017–18. Le Corbusier’s own home here is a manifesto of light, structure, and innovation. #architecture #peterzumthor #oscarniemeyer #lecorbusier

DESIGN SELLS Did you know that eighty five percent of consumers make their purchasing decisions by design, and one hundred percent of car purchases are driven by design. Design is the most powerful tool for increasing sales, shaping perception, and defining value. It is not just the product, it is the experience, the aura, the emotion. Design is now the invisible hand guiding our choices across every part of life. Services use design to choreograph behavior and emotion. Think of how the layout of an app, the tone of a voice interface, or the uniform of a hotel staff member creates a feeling of trust, ease, and desire. Design defines how we move through an airport, how we interact with a website, how we sense the quality of care in a hospital or a bank. In industry, design separates the ordinary from the extraordinary. Two objects with identical function can hold completely different value depending on their form, texture, and message. Design turns utility into desire, efficiency into emotion, technology into humanity. In real estate, design creates lifestyle. Architecture, interiors, light, and material form an identity that commands higher value. People no longer buy square meters, they buy atmosphere, energy, and story. A well designed building is a brand, not a structure. Even in politics, design has become a language of persuasion. Campaign graphics, stage sets, typography, clothing, even gestures, all engineered to project identity, empathy, and vision. Good design does not just communicate, it convinces. Design sells because it seduces. It is the fusion of beauty, utility, and meaning. Every form we create, every space we inhabit, every object we touch shapes how we see ourselves and our world. Design is not decoration. It is strategy. It is life. #DesignSells #KarimRashid #DesignPhilosophy #IndustrialDesign #InteriorDesign #Architecture #Branding #Creativity #Innovation #DesignThinking #DesignMatters #FutureDesign #ColorAndForm #SensualMinimalism #HumanizingDesign #DesignIsLife #KarimRashidOfficial #DesignLecture #DesignForLife #EpochOfCreativity

Rolls-Royce, in collaboration with AD India, presents A Portrait in Time—a campaign that explores the dialogue between heritage, legacy and contemporary craftsmanship through Ghost Series II. Featuring Abhimanyu Alsisar, Kanwar Saheb of Alsisar and Khetri, the film draws a measured parallel between the legacy of the region of Alsisar and the design philosophy he gravitates towards. Both reflect precision, restraint, and an enduring commitment to craft. #RollsRoyceMotorCars #RollsRoyceGhost Series II #BespokeIsRollsRoyce @rollsroycecarsapac

In Chinese tea culture, the cups have no handles — and honestly, it’s genius. 🫖
If it’s too hot to hold, it’s too hot to drink.
No sleeves, no warnings, no “caution: hot.”
Just design that forces you to slow the heck down. You feel the heat.
You wait.
You tune in.
Because rushing it literally doesn’t work. That’s what I love about this kind of design — it doesn’t scream for your attention.
It quietly shapes your behavior, your pace, your presence. And that’s exactly how we approach interiors:
A kitchen that makes conversation flow without forcing it.
A bathroom that automatically shifts you into wind-down mode.
A little bench by the door that says, “pause… breathe… transition home.” The best design isn’t loud — it changes how you move through a space.
It slows you down just enough to notice your own life. Human intelligence has always been celebrated as the highest achievement of evolution, yet it carries a quiet contradiction. Our ability to reason, imagine, and innovate allows us to reshape the world—but it also enables us to design tools that can destroy it. Unlike other living beings, humans do not merely adapt to their environment; they attempt to dominate it. In doing so, they sometimes create dangers far greater than the threats they originally sought to overcome. Animals act within the boundaries of survival. Their actions are guided by instinct and immediate necessity. They do not invent systems that can wipe out their own species or destabilize the balance of nature. Humans, however, possess foresight and abstraction. We can think generations ahead, calculate outcomes, and still choose paths that risk collective harm. This reveals that intelligence alone is not wisdom. The problem is not knowledge itself, but the values that guide it. When progress becomes detached from ethical responsibility, innovation turns hollow. Power without restraint leads to fear rather than security. The same mind that can cure diseases or explore the universe can also justify destruction in the name of pride, control, or competition. This contrast invites reflection on what it truly means to be advanced. Perhaps real progress lies not in how much power we can create, but in how carefully we choose to use it. A world shaped by thoughtful restraint, empathy, and responsibility may appear slower, but it would be far more stable. Intelligence reaches its highest form not when it proves dominance, but when it learns limits. . Check out the link in my bio for a 14-day reset guide system ☝️
