If your face feels tight, squeaky clean, or burning after skincare… your routine is probably too harsh. Over-cleansing and layering strong treatments strips your barrier, causing micro-inflammation that triggers extra oil and clogged pores. So instead of fewer pimples, you get more breakouts and dark marks that take forever to fade. Use one gentle medicated cleanser, protect with moisturizer + sunscreen, and treat with adapalene at night. 💬 Drop your acne questions below and follow for more clear skin tips! ✨Comment ACNE and I’ll DM you the 🔗 for product recommendations Some links are affiliate, all recommendations are my own #AcneProneSkin #SkincareRoutine #DermTips #DrugstoreFinds

You asked, I’m answering 💬✨ — my favorite skin hacks and what they actually do 👇🏼 Hydration in minutes? A good sheet mask 💦 instantly floods your skin with moisture, plumps fine lines, and gives you that dewy glow before an event or makeup. My go-to mineral sunscreen ☀️🧴 protects with zinc oxide + titanium dioxide, sitting on top of the skin to physically block UVA/UVB rays (and bonus: it’s great for sensitive or acne-prone skin). Favorite spot treatment? Adapalene (a retinoid!) 🔥 It’s a vitamin A derivative that increases cell turnover, unclogs pores, reduces inflammation, and helps prevent future breakouts while smoothing texture over time. And for minor breakouts or irritated spots? Hypochlorous spray 🧼✨ It helps calm redness, reduce acne-causing bacteria, and support the skin barrier — gentle but powerful. Always consult a medical provider before starting new skincare treatments 🤍 #SkinCareHacks #EstheticianTips #AcneCare #RetinolRoutine

Dealing with acne? Here’s a derm-approved routine to help: Comment ACNE to shop these products 🔗 1️⃣ Benzoyl peroxide cleanser 4% to target acne-causing bacteria. 2️⃣ Salicylic acid cleanser to gently exfoliate and clear pores. 3️⃣ Adapalene (a gentle retinoid) to help regulate skin turnover and prevent clogged pores. Consistency is key, start slow and don’t forget to moisturize and wear SPF daily!

If you have acne AND sensitive skin, your moisturizer matters more than your treatment. Harsh acne products can weaken your barrier and increase irritation. The moisturizers I look for: • Fragrance-free • Barrier-supporting ingredients (ceramides, glycerin, hyaluronic acid) • Non-comedogenic • Calming formulas Hydration helped reduce redness and stabilized my skin while using tretinoin. Don’t skip moisturizer because you’re acne-prone. That mistake kept my skin inflamed for years. Save this if you’re rebuilding your routine. #moisturizerroutine #sensitiveskincare #adultacnehelp #barrierhealth #glowingskintips

It’s a huge mistake❌ To think of your products in isolation. Admit it, you think there’s ONE product that can solve everything.🪄 It’s what you were taught ever since you first got acne. You go to a dermatologist, and what do they give you? Usually some sort of cream (like tretinoin or adapalene) or some sort of pill (Accutane, BCP, or Spironolactone). So it’s trained us to look for that ONE magical thing that makes everything better. But it’s a mistake. You’re NOT using just one thing on your skin, and your skin faces a lot more than just one product. You have to think of your skincare routine like a team. Each player has to play well for you to win the game. If one sucks, or decided to skip the game, then the whole team loses. In this case, your skin loses. Your skin benefits from cleansing, from moisturizing properly (with the 3SMM), and sunscreen. But you think the Vitamin C, retinoid, or next trending serum will do all the heavy lifting? It can’t. Which is why the cream your dermatologist gave you didn’t work. Remember HOW you used it? You likely smeared it on as if it was a moisturizer, thinking more is more. Maybe you tried it for a week before calling it quits. Not only did you not have a routine at all, the cream only dried out your skin and made it uncomfortable, right? You can come to the conclusion that the cream that was prescribed to you was totally useless… Or you can consider: 〰️the rest of your routine was missing 〰️you didn’t know how to use the product correctly 〰️and maybe it was the wrong thing for your case 〰️maybe you just needed to learn to be consistent with the basics? 〰️maybe it wasn’t even acne If your skin looks like a before picture, it can help to stop chasing miracles and consider the whole routine, AND how we use each step AND our individual context.🤗 Was this helpful?
