“Let’s Get Rid of Woke DEI!” …But What If We Actually Did? What if we got rid of technology that was designed for accessibility for disabled people? Bet you’d be surprised what might disappear. Texting Keyboards Cruise control Touch screens Are you shocked to learn these aren’t just “conveniences”—they were born from accessibility innovations for people with disabilities? Watch the video to see how much of our daily tech traces back to disability inclusion. Spoiler: The world would look very different without it. Want to see how deep the rabbit hole goes? Watch now—you’ll never dismiss DEI the same way again. edit: I misread my script while recording (dyslexia) and said Jack Kirby instead of Kilby. Incidentally, Jack Kirby also benefited from "DEI" initiatives, having collected military disability payments that helped him literally get back on his feet until he got a contract with DC after the war. #FutureOfWork #InclusiveInnovation #TechHistory #DEI #Accessibility #Leadership #DisabilityRights #SixDegrees

July is #DisabilityPrideMonth - but if your support starts and ends with a hashtag or a rainbow wheelchair logo, it’s not pride. It’s performance. Large businesses, I’m looking at you 👀, not that I’ve actually seen much comms at all so far tbh 😣 Disability Pride isn’t about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about owning the reality of being disabled in a world that’s not built for us; the barriers, the bias, the burnout. It’s about showing up unapologetically because of who we are, not in spite of it. So if you’re a business, a brand, or a so-called ally: Don’t post a token graphic and call it awareness. Don’t feature us for a week, then disappear. Don’t center your message around “inspiration.” 👉🏻 Read up on the proposed welfare reform that’s ongoing this week, and write to your local MP. 👉🏻 Hire us within your workforce 👉🏻 Consult and make your spaces accessible 👉🏻 Listen to us even when it’s uncomfortable 👉🏻 Take action today, as it might just be you who needs the allyship tomorrow… Learn more from people doing great things within the space: @takingthepip @disrights_uk @scopecharity to name a few. Get tagging other resources in the comments 🙌🏻 Disability inclusion is a 365-day commitment, not a July PR moment. And to my disabled community: this month is for US. For our voices, our joy, our resistance, and our power. I see you. I’m proud of us and most of all, I’m proud to be Disabled 💪♿️❤️ What else would you add to this? Let me know in the comments ⬇️ #DisabilityPride #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs #DisabilityJustice #WheelieGoodLife #DisabledGirl #TakingThePip #DisabledAndProud

One of my favorite ways our community supports disability inclusion is through special needs cinema screenings.♥️🤟 A year ago today we went as a family to see Inside Out 2. They leave the lights on low, have the volume lowered, & allow any movement or joy noise from the patrons. It’s a way for families like ours to experience the theatre without the typical worries & what ifs. This is why inclusion always matters!♥️🤟 #sensoryissues #autismacceptance #disabilitypride #inclusion #lovewins

The video shows a wheelchair user attempting to access a building using a steep, narrow ramp placed beside a set of stairs, highlighting the physical difficulty and safety risks involved when accessibility features are poorly designed. The scene reflects broader social and economic issues related to urban infrastructure, where accessibility standards may exist on paper but are inconsistently implemented due to limited budgets, lack of technical oversight, or low prioritization of disability inclusion. The daily reality depicted includes increased physical strain, reduced independence, and potential danger for people with mobility impairments, emphasizing how inadequate design directly affects equal access to public spaces, services, and work environments rather than functioning as a reliable accommodation

We’re incredibly excited to share All In. A powerful new branded film series from BBC StoryWorks exploring what’s possible when disability inclusion is embedded into the heart of business. We launched this first look trailer at SYNC25, the series centres on lived experience, bold leadership, and real-world change, showing how accessibility, representation, and inclusive design can transform workplaces, products, and cultures. Featuring voices like Dr Shani Dhanda and Palesa Mosiea, All In is a call to business leaders everywhere to move beyond intent and into action. This is about better innovation. Better partnerships. And building businesses that truly reflect the world as it is. We can’t wait to see this series come to life in 2026. When it comes to disability inclusion, we need you all in. #AllIn #BBCSeries #BBCStoryWorks #DisabilityInclusion

"My dream is for a future where children with disabilities can grow up feeling proud of who they are." That’s why one of Winston Wong’s proudest achievements is starting Temasek Polytechnic SENvocates (@tp_senvocates ), a student-led group championing disability inclusion and making that dream a reality. 🫶💜" Fun fact: Winston Wong (@wwongcf) is one of the participants for The Purple Parade's pilot Leadership Development Programme. SP: At Skill Up Africa 2025, we marked World Youth Skills Day together with NO ONE OUT by highlighting efforts to make vocational training more inclusive — through psychosocial support, life skills, and disability inclusion. This video shares experiences from Nairobi’s public VTCs and the impact of a more holistic approach to youth empowerment. The initiative is part of InJob! – Pathways to Inclusive Education and Promotion of Employability for Vulnerable Youth in Vocational Training Centres, supported by #AICSCooperazione and #8x1000ChiesaValdese. https://www.nooneout.org
