SPACE REVOLUTION! 🛰️🥞 The Space Force is Dumping “Boxy” Satellites for These Ultra-Thin, Unstoppable “Disks!” Goodbye cubes, hello disks! 🚀 Today, Rocket Lab is launching the “Don’t Be Such A Square” mission for the U.S. Space Force, carrying the first-ever DiskSats. Developed by The Aerospace Corporation and NASA, these satellites are a radical departure from traditional design. Instead of boxes, they are 1-meter-wide circular plates just 1 inch thick. They are literally “stacked like pancakes” inside the rocket, allowing 20+ satellites to fit where only a few used to. Why It Matters: • VLEO Dominance: Their thin edge-on profile creates almost zero drag, allowing them to fly in “Very Low Earth Orbit” (below 300km) an area where traditional satellites usually burn up within days. • Insane Power: Because one side is a giant flat circle, it has 13x more surface area for solar cells than a standard CubeSat, generating massive power without needing heavy, moving parts. • Constellation Speed: The stacking design allows the Space Force to launch entire “megaconstellations” of high-powered radar and comms satellites faster and cheaper than ever before. Is the era of the boxy satellite over? Would you rather have 1 giant satellite or 100 of these thin “pancake” satellites? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇 #SpaceForce #VLEO #DiskSat

Rocket Lab has just completed another milestone launch, sending four DiskSat spacecraft into orbit aboard its Electron rocket in support of the U.S. Space Force’s STP-S30 mission. Unlike traditional cubesats, these experimental disk-shaped satellites — developed with NASA funding — are built to test new small-satellite technology that could improve solar power, drag performance, and mission flexibility in low Earth orbit. The early-morning liftoff from Rocket Lab’s Wallops Island launch site was Rocket Lab’s 20th orbital mission of the year, and it happened five months ahead of schedule, showcasing the company’s agility and responsiveness in supporting national security and space innovation programs. As these DiskSats begin their orbital testing, they could pave the way for a new class of spacecraft that expands capabilities for defense, commercial and scientific users alike. 🚀🛰️ Credit: Rocket Lab #RocketLab #DiskSat #STPS30 #ElectronRocket #SpaceLaunch #USSpaceForce #NASA #SpaceInnovation #SmallSat #SpaceTechnology #LowEarthOrbit

@rocketlabcorp @usspaceforce @nasa #rocketlab #electron #launch #rocketlaunch #spacelaunch #disksat #nasa #satelliti

NASA’s DiskSat is gearing up to launch into low Earth orbit! Four plate-shaped spacecraft will demonstrate a new small spacecraft technology that aims to lower mission costs and expand access to space.Unlike traditional boxy CubeSats, these disk-shaped satellites are approximately one meter in diameter but only an inch thick—resembling small, high-tech coffee tables. Launched aboard Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket in a mission aptly named "Don’t Be Such A Square," this flight demonstrates a new architecture that allows satellites to be stacked like dinner plates inside a rocket. This maximizing of space allows for more hardware to be launched at once, significantly driving down mission costs and opening the doors for smaller organizations to reach the stars. The DiskSat design isn't just about saving space; it's about superior performance. The flat, two-dimensional shape provides a massive surface area for solar panels and antennas, allowing these small crafts to generate much higher power than their predecessors. Additionally, their sleek profile is designed for "very low Earth orbit" (VLEO), where they can cut through the thin upper atmosphere with minimal drag. This maneuverability, powered by onboard electric propulsion, enables sharper Earth imaging and lower-latency communications, proving that in the future of aerospace, being "flat" is a major competitive advantage. 📣MAKE NO MISTAKE! NASA announcing the launch of 🛸 UFO shaped satellites is no coincidence during a time when disclosure is on the horizon and UFO sightings are at an all time high and increasing. Much like Starlink 🛰️ quickly became the new weather balloon for ufo skeptics. The launch of UFO shaped satellites will serve the same purpose. This is the launch of a damage control campaign and likely has very little to do with a more efficient satellite. Now every sighting can easily written off as one of the two, Starlink or NASA’s DiskSat. Leave it up to the United States two “leading” Space Agency’s to tirelessly attempt to gatekeep our skies. Something is coming that “they” can’t control and “they” are scared to death of losing the plot, which is inevitable. Coincidentally this announcement and official launch comes one day prior to the arrival of 3i/Atlas. 2026 is shaping up to be a historic year for disclosure already. Nice try NASA…

NASA recently launched DiskSat satellites, and at first glance they look like flying saucers drifting through space. These flat, disk shaped satellites are designed for communications, radar, Earth observation, and precise orbital maneuvering. Their shape is not for style. The compact disk design allows better aerodynamic control in low Earth orbit, efficient power usage, and improved stability during maneuvers. DiskSats can adjust their orbits with extreme precision, making them useful for monitoring Earth, tracking weather, improving global communications, and testing future satellite technologies. What looks like a UFO is actually a sign of how fast satellite design is evolving. Space hardware is no longer bulky. It is becoming smarter, thinner, and more efficient. --- 🔖 Hashtags #universiauni #NASA #DiskSat #SatelliteTechnology #SpaceTech #UFOlookalike #SpaceReels #FutureOfSpace #EarthObservation #SpaceEngineering #Aerospace #OrbitalMechanics #ScienceExplained #SpaceInnovation #AstronomyReels #AstroCommunity #LowEarthOrbit #SpaceScience
