CHHow to know when you should head to the hospital/birth center or call your midwife ⬇️
There are a few different variations depending on each labor + situation.
Being able to labor as undisturbed as possible without all eyes on you for as long as you can will serve you well!
1) If you have doula support they will help gauge this with you when it’s a good time to head in or call. They’ll also help with coping techniques.
(We look at the number of baby this is for you, how you’re coping, how far away the birth place is, and what your goal is for pain management.)
2) If you don’t have a doula a good a rule of thumb to follow is the 4-1-1 rule. Contraction pattern that lasts atleast an hour, each one a minute long (or more), every 4 minutes.
