VI✨Our annual tradition of bringing art into our home! I usually only post my paintings, so this is a little different showing some of the things I do with my kids. But if you know me, you know I love stained glass, my kids, and Jesus.
We love stained glass all the time, but especially when we can see it from our large kitchen window during Easter week! We do our family Bible study at this table every morning, so when the window is painted it makes it extra special. Traditions are so important with child development and creating strong family bonds. This is one they won’t forget.
DIY DETAILS:
• I used electrical tape (cut lengthwise) for the outline and left it on at the end to mimic real stained glass—like the leading—and let each color panel shine.
• We used acrylic paint on the glass (we love Liquitex Basics). It’s the perfect consistency, tons of colors, and water-based so it cleans up easily.
• Use soft brushes—angled flats are our favorite. Blend colors within each section and vary your brush strokes for that true stained glass look. Minimal pane (think “staining”) to let the light through.
• Cleanup is easier than you’d think! Peel off the tape first (kids love this part), then spray the window with hot water. The paint loosens into thin sheets and wipes right off with paper towels. Repeat for thicker areas.
Perfect for Easter—but just as special for any holiday and especially birthdays. Highly recommend!

Vio morir a su Señor.
Vio bajar su cuerpo.
Vio ponerlo en el sepulcro.
Y en sábado, descansó.
Pero no olvidó.
En la madrugada del primer día de la semana,
mientras aún estaba oscuro,
ella fue al sepulcro.
No esperaba verlo vivo.
Iba a honrar un cadáver.
Pero lo que encontró…
cambió su vida para siempre.

Los que permanecen.
Hoy, si has permanecido al pie de tu cruz…
si no te has ido aunque todo duela…
prepárate.
Porque el amanecer viene.
Y cuando llegue…
no será una señal…

LATwo years ago, I began this piece…
and my children loved it every step of the way.. and hung it on their bedroom wall inbetween painting.
Even now, sharing it gives me chills—
and if I’m honest… a little fear.
This feels like one of my rarest, most unearthed pieces—
something created without thinking of viewers,
without strategy or outcome—
just me, my hands, and the Spirit.
It could have turned out strange.
It still might.
But I trusted the process anyway.
A few nights ago, I had a dream—
one I’m still trying to understand—
where Christ appeared.
There’s another piece I’ve started,
quietly,
to capture that moment.
I don’t know if I’ll ever share it.
Because sometimes art feels so deeply a part of me
that showing it is like standing at the sacrament table,
bearing my testimony—
completely seen,
completely bare.
Tonight, I’m hanging this above our table for Easter dinner.
Because of Him,
you don’t have to do this alone.
Not ever.
“He being in an agony… his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” (Luke 22:44)
He felt it all—
every ache, every sorrow, every weight you carry.
You are not alone.
Let Him in.
I can hardly approach Easter week without feeling it—
the weight of what He endured.
I almost have to squint my eyes,
because my heart can’t fully hold it.
You did that… for me.
This isn’t just a story.
It isn’t just symbolic.
It’s Real.
