Endometriosis is more than just a painful period. It’s a chronic condition affecting 1 in 10 women worldwide, often ranked among the most painful ailments—right after cancer. Yet awareness is still so low. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis, with 11cm cysts around my ovaries, pelvic area, and rectum, along with hydrosalpinx. This brought constant pain, fatigue, anxiety, mental stress, skin breakouts, and hair loss. Many think painful periods are normal—but they’re not. Every girl and woman experiencing extreme pain deserves help. But getting help isn’t easy. There’s no known cause, no universal cure, and most doctors don’t know what to do. I was lucky to be treated by a specialist who created a tailored treatment for me, based on my age, body, and condition. Why should it have to be this way? We need solutions that work for everyone. We need answers. Endo fatigue is REAL… 🫠 Fatigue is an under recognised but VERY common symptom of endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. Some people feel that the fatigue is far worse than the pain they experience 😰 Four of the top things I believe play a key role in causing fatigue: 1️⃣ Inflammation - while the immune system attempts to combat endometriosis tissue inflammatory chemicals are secreted, which can contribute to fatigue 🦠 2️⃣ Fatigue could be part of a mood disorder which is very common among people with chronic pain. When you have to withdraw from normal life due to pain symptoms over a long period of time it makes it really difficult to socialise and do “normal” things. Mood disorders can also affect concentration and energy levels so this needs thorough assessment from your treating doctor 🧠 3️⃣ Fatigue may arise from poor sleep patterns (insomnia, hypersomnia or a sleep disorder) whether caused by pain interference, mood disorder, or other factors 😴💤 Sleep problems can also arise from poor eating patterns, digestive disturbance, environmental factors, faulty breathing patterns and absence of exposure to fresh air and sunshine. 4️⃣ Fatigue may arise from inadequate physical activity which is common for people immobilised by pain over a long time. Loss of muscle tone contributes to lethargy and a sense of heaviness with movement 💪🏽 The opposite is also true, arising from a boom/bust pattern to activity where we overdo activity when symptoms are under control and pay the price later with fatigue and worse pain 🤕 My take home message is this: fatigue can really impact your ability to live the life you want. The best person to talk to about this with is your treating doctor 🩺 ALSO, physical activity is known to reduce pain and could be beneficial in reducing tiredness, even gentle exercise can help 🧘🏻‍♀️✨ Do you know someone who could relate to this? 💛 #endo #endometriosis #endowarrior #endowarriors #endostrong

Instead, you’re met with blank stares, outdated information, or the dreaded “Just take the pill” advice. And suddenly, you’re the one explaining what endo actually is. You’re the one teaching them that: 🟡 Endo isn’t just “bad periods” 🟡 It doesn’t show on most scans 🟡 Hysterectomy isn’t a cure 🟡 Pain every single day is not normal 🟡 There’s no known cure, and hormonal birth control is not a fix It’s exhausting. It’s disheartening. And it’s the reality for so many of us. 💛 We didn’t ask to become experts. 💛 We didn’t ask to be dismissed, doubted, or gaslit. 💛 We just want to be heard. Treated. Respected. The amount of messages I’m getting from you guys saying that you can’t get doctors to take your pain seriously honestly breaks my heart, but I’ve been there and I’m not saying to be disrespectful to doctors but if you’re working with a doctor, who’s not taking you seriously, don’t waste your time trying to convince them ….go find someone who will take you seriously and also here some tips for how to handle yourself in an ER room or Drs office when trying to get help for endometriosis pain: ✨Don’t get overly emotional do your best to stay calm and composed and be STRAIGHT FORWARD. ✨Bring Documentation …If you have been consistently experiencing pain, document it in a journal and bring those notes with you …having proof of pattern and experience with pain can help doctors get straight to wanting to treat you rather than overly evaluate you Remember, doctors are not your enemy, but they have to do their due diligence before just prescribing medication’s or taking someone’s “word”, especially for pain ✨Be able to clearly describe the kind of pain you’re experiencing how often it occurs and where it’s localized to ✨ be aware that getting help for immediate pain relief is not the time to talk about the long-term goals. Most of these doctors are just gonna see you for that immediate moment but will not be your primary care so be doing your research on who you can see at a nonemergent time and start building a relationship with them for a long term plan I recommend looking into NAPRO doctors in your area a quick Google search should get you some answers These are MDs that follow a protocol that aims to getting to the root cause of issues Don’t be scared to interview doctors don’t think that just cause you go to one that means you have to stick with them Hope this helps someone And always remember, you have to do your part and be your best advocate While you wait for help, be sure you’re just doing what you can on a daily basis to take care of yourself because at the end of the day no prescription or surgery can do 100% of the work we have to be willing to do our part too🤗🤍 #endopain #ttcwithendo #painreliefoptions #endostrong #endosupport
