Follow @activeneuroscience for more practical neuroscience. 🌱 What you eat during pregnancy does more than nourish your body. It can influence how your baby’s genes behave for the rest of their life. Scientists call this epigenetics. Think of it like dimmer switches sitting on top of your DNA. These switches can turn certain genes on or off depending on the environment in the womb. Research shows that high blood sugar during pregnancy can program a child’s body to be more vulnerable to conditions like diabetes later in life. This does not mean fate is sealed. It means the developing body is constantly adapting to the signals it receives. Nutrition, stress, sleep, and overall health all send messages about what kind of world the baby should prepare for. This is powerful because it shows that parents have influence long before birth. Small daily choices can help build a stronger foundation for brain development, metabolism, and lifelong health. We used to think our DNA was a fixed script—a "read-only" file that we couldn't change. But the future of science shows us that biology works more like software. This is called Epigenetics. Think of your DNA as the hardware, but your lifestyle and diet are the code being written in real-time. During pregnancy, a mother is literally "programming" the baby’s genetic expression. By choosing specific nutrients, you are toggling "on" or "off" switches that determine future health, intelligence, and disease resistance. We are moving from a world of "genetic luck" to a world of "biological design." Understanding this shift is the first step toward the next era of human optimization. The source: Epigenetics / NIH & Harvard Med. Follow for AI, Tech & Future News: @nxra.media #innovation #biohacking #futuretech #epigenetics #humanenhancement

A Harvard professor just convinced the FDA that aging can be reversed. Not slowed. Reversed. His name is Prof. David Sinclair - Department of Genetics, Harvard University - and in January 2026, the FDA approved the first-ever human clinical trial of an age reversal gene therapy. It’s called ER-100. Here’s how it works. Your cells don’t die because they’re worn out. They age because they lose the correct epigenetic information - the instructions that tell them how to function like young, healthy cells. ER-100 injects those instructions back in. It’s called partial epigenetic reprogramming - and it already reversed vision loss in mice. Then in primates. Now, for the first time in human history, it’s being tested in humans. The first patients are being enrolled right now. Sinclair’s words: “Aging has a relatively simple explanation and is apparently reversible.” This isn’t science fiction. This is a Harvard professor, FDA approved, human clinical trial happening in 2026. The goal isn’t to start with full body age reversal. It starts with the eye. Then the liver. Then organ by organ. Until eventually the whole body. We are living through the moment scientists warned us was coming. The generation that doesn’t have to age the way every generation before us did. ➕ Comment ‘BONUS’ and I’ll send you a free Beginners Guide + 350 Prompt Bible to Master AI 🦾 #longevity #agereversal #DavidSinclair #epigenetics #futureofhealth

Research shows that people who consume the highest amounts of polyphenol-rich foods experience a slower rate of biological aging. These compounds don’t just support health, they influence your epigenetics, the “dimmer switch” that turns protective genes on and harmful pathways down. Here’s where it gets practical 👇 🍵 Green, oolong, and black tea 🌿 Turmeric (curcumin) 🧄 Garlic 🌱 Rosemary 🫐 Berries like strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries These foods help activate protective DNA programs linked to longevity, resilience, and healthier aging. 👇 Comment POLYP and I’ll send you the full video ➕ Follow for more science-backed insights on food, epigenetics, and longevity #polyphenols #epigenetics #longevityscience #healthyliving #dnahealth #agingwell #foodasmedicine #cellularhealth #drwilliamli

My total cholesterol is 267. My LDL is 182. On paper that looks terrible. But here’s what the standard panel doesn’t tell you: Triglycerides: 49 HDL: 70 TG/HDL ratio: 0.7 (elite) hs-CRP: 0.8 (low inflammation) Fasting insulin: 4.6 (excellent) Lp(a): <10 (low genetic risk) LDL Pattern A (large buoyant) The markers that actually predict heart disease? All excellent. A meta-analysis of 207,000+ participants confirmed the TG/HDL ratio is an independent predictor of cardiovascular risk (Atherosclerosis, 2022). My ratio is 0.7. Risk starts above 2.0. So why is my cholesterol high? My epigenetics. I have a COMT gene variant that clears stress hormones 3-4x slower than average. Research shows chronic cortisol directly increases hepatic VLDL/LDL production and reduces LDL receptor activity (Psychosomatic Medicine, 2005). After 5 years of extreme stress — that’s my root cause. My plan: 🔬 Berberine — upregulates LDL receptors through a mechanism completely different from statins, reducing LDL-C by 25% in clinical trials (Kong et al., Nature Medicine, 2004) 🧬 Targeted stress support for my genetics 🛡️ Antioxidants to protect particles from oxidation 📊 Retest in 3-4 months A statin would lower the number. It wouldn’t fix WHY it’s high. This is why I recommend advanced lipid testing AND epigenetics. The standard panel tells you almost nothing. ⚠️ This is my personal health journey — not medical advice. Your Emotions Can Change Your Genes — The Mind-Body Connection Your thoughts and emotions send chemical signals throughout your body. Every cell “listens” and responds by turning certain genes on or off — a process called epigenetics. Negative emotions (stress, fear, anger) can activate genes linked to inflammation, disease, and aging. Positive emotions (love, joy, gratitude) can support genes that boost immunity, reduce stress, and promote healing. Your mind and body are deeply connected. How you think and feel directly influences your biology — right down to the genetic level. > Your emotions don’t change your DNA, but they change how your genes behave. #MindBodyConnection #Epigenetics #HealFromWithin #EmotionsMatter #SelfHealing

New paper in Nature Medicine tumor DNA to identify picloram (a synthetic herbicide registered in 1964) as a candidate risk factor for early-onset colorectal cancer. Replicated across 9 cohorts and 21 years of US county-level data. Not proof of causation. But a serious signal that deserves a serious answer. #colorectalcancer #research #epigenetics #medicine

“But I do all the right things” is a common response when somebody is diagnosed with an illness. A lot of illness comes down to Epigenetics. This is a mix of genetics, what we inherit from our parents, and our lifestyle factors and habits. It’s often described as genetics loading the gun and lifestyle factor pulling the trigger. Sometimes there’s just some bad luck thrown in as well for good measure. Let me know your thoughts on this. I’d love to hear what you think on the topic. #health #healthtips #epigenetics #genetics

Do you have Celt or Viking DNA? 🧬 this essentially is starting to talk a bit about epigenetics! The wars, famine, rations, fears etc those are traumas and emotions that can be the “generational curses” as some people call them etc. however even if these are passed down there’s a flip to switch according to epigenetics to turn that off!! For 50 years, science told us genes were fixed — our destiny written at birth. In 2003, the Human Genome Project quietly shattered that belief. What they found instead is something that should be taught in every school on Earth: 1. The old model said: you have a gene for anxiety. A gene for depression. A gene for heart disease. A gene for early death. You inherited it from your parents. Your children will inherit it from you. Nothing you do changes it. The Human Genome Project — a 13-year, $3 billion study — was supposed to confirm this. Instead, it revealed something no one expected: Humans have roughly 23,000 genes. Less than a roundworm. The "genetic destiny" model collapsed overnight. 2. What emerged in its place was the field of epigenetics. The discovery: genes do not determine your life. Signals from the environment turn genes on and off. And the environment that matters most? Your internal environment. Your thoughts. Your emotions. Science now shows that the emotion you sustain for as little as 15 to 20 minutes a day can signal your immune cells to begin producing new proteins. Your emotional state is writing instructions to your DNA. Right now. 3. In Dr. Joe Dispenza's workshops, students measured for epigenetic changes after just 4 days. Significant changes in gene expression. IgA — the immune marker — increased measurably. New proteins. New enzymes. New hormones. From thought and emotion alone. No drugs. No surgery. No supplements. 4. This means: The disease your parent had is not your sentence. The anxiety that runs in your family is a pattern — not a prophecy. The body you inherited is not the body you are confined to. You are not a victim of your biology. You are the author of it. Every single day you choose what emotional signals you flood your cells with — and those signals are rewriting the program. 5. The most powerful pharmacy in existence is inside you. You don't need a prescription for it. You need a practice. Comment "BRAIN" to start yours. 🔥 #Epigenetics #GenesArentDestiny #HumanGenomeProject #BecomingSupernatural #JoeDispenza

THIS IS HOW DNA IS CAPABLE OF REVERSING DISEASE ⬇️ We are expressing only a fraction of the potential coded within our DNA. Modern science already showed it - our DNA is not fixed. Through processes like epigenetics, genes can actually be turned on or off depending on signals from the environment, lifestyle, and even psychological stress. See my reel with Dr Bruce Lipton about whether cancer is genetic. Our DNA is not simply a static blueprint or template. It’s more a library of possibilities. Many organisms on Earth already demonstrate astonishing regenerative abilities. ✅ For example, salamanders can regrow limbs. ✅ Certain jellyfish can essentially reset their life cycle, ✅ All human tissues are constantly repairing and renewing. ALL, bar none! So the body 100% has deeper regenerative potential, there’s no question, but us humans remain limited because we are constantly focused on “emotional means to an end” - we spend our lives reacting emotionally to circumstances rather than consciously directing our inner state to what we want. Stress, fear, resentment, and chronic emotional tension all send biochemical signals throughout the body. It’s all information and instruction! Those signals and instructions influence our hormones, our immune function, inflammation, and yes, even gene expression. And so over time, the body just adapts to the emotional environment we repeatedly live in and works from that frame. So limited right? So if our biology is constantly responding to the signals we send it, how much of our health trajectory is determined by the environment inside our mind and nervous system instead of our abilities and us using them? Our DNA is a set of instructions waiting for the right signals from us. This is literally the work I do so I can help you apply these principles to your own health. All my protocols are CUSTOM MADE for you and your unique situation! Comment “HEAL” below to book a consultation (link also in bio) or send me a DM.
