Has this ever happened to you?! 👀🍓🍼 The term “strawberry milk” in reference to red pumped breastmilk normally has to do with 🩸 being in the milk .. either from cracked n!ps from nursing, baby’s latch, incorrect use of pump settings or improper flange fit. From my experience.. with correct sizing, improving baby’s latch, pump lubricant, lower pump settings and comfortable flange fit, it heals fairly quickly. A little blood in the milk is normally not dangerous for baby (if this happens when nursing, you’d never know!).. especially if you make just enough milk or undersupply, every bit counts! *always ask your own doctor for advice & guidance!! But it is a sign something needs to be corrected. LMK.. would you feed this to your baby?! Pediatric experts have found that alcohol does not accumulate in breastmilk. Essentially, this means that if your blood alcohol content is normal and you feel sober enough to drive a car and do day to day tasks, you should be safe to breastfeed again. That’s not right it’s 6 I believe. However, guidelines are forever changing so please check with your midwife or health visitor as to what to follow before storing. 🤍 . The hardest part of motherhood for me, other than sleep deprivation, has been pumping. I didn’t expect how emotionally taxing it would feel. The constant schedule. The pressure to produce. The way your entire day revolves around ounces, timing, and output. Some days it feels heavy. Some days it feels lonely. And some days I question if I can keep going. But I still show up.
