GI💚 Reverse Lunges are SO GOOD for the glutes! 🔥
One common mistake I see is lining your feet up like you’re walking a tightrope, placing one foot directly behind the other.
This isn’t “wrong”, per say, but it can make it difficult to balance and therefore harder to add weights- you want to be stable before adding load!
Next time you do reverse lunges, try using these cues! 👇🏻
✅ start with feet shoulder width apart and keep this distance throughout
✅ step one leg back, and as soon as the ball of your foot touches the ground, drop the knee to the floor.
✅ keep most of your weight on that front foot as you spring back to starting position, driving through the heel/whole foot
✅ You can alternate legs from rep to rep or isolate one leg at a time. I personally prefer alternating because it’s easier to count and it works both legs equally. Isolating one leg at a time fatigues your extended leg. By the time you switch, your extended leg is weakened and you might not get the same quality of reps with the other leg. Play around with what you like best.
Try 3 sets of 10-12 reps each leg next time you’re in the gym and feel that booty burnin!!
