Q. Who is a Flight Dispatcher?
A flight Dispatcher is also known as Ground Pilot, as we assist the flying pilot with flight plan, airway, fuel, aircraft performance data.
Q. How to become a flight Dispatcher?
One has to undergo a flight Dispatcher course from any ground School/ Airline who have the valid approval to conduct the course. Course tenure is approximately for 3-4 months. Most of the Airlines today have their own flight Dispatcher course. One can be recruited directly after graduation through college placement or walk ins.
Q. What is the requirement & Criteria?
One must have 12th with Physics & Maths. Minimum age is 21 years. Refer DGCA CAR SECTION 7 SERIES M PART II (www.dgca.gov.in)
Q. Is it a Licensed job?
Yes, like a pilot has a license, a flight Dispatcher also gets a license after clearing 6 exams, VIVA and OJT of 90 days. License is provided by DGCA, India.
Q. How much is the pay?
After acquiring the license, one can expect a payscale of 15-20 LPA. ( Current aviation market standard)
