DID YOU KNOW? Good afternoon #BlueAngel fans. Did you know runway truck follows the jets from taxiing all the way up until takeoff during every practice & demonstration. Runway truck is a team comprised of technical experts from every maintenance work center such as Airframes, Avionics, Power plants and Quality assurance who assist the pilots when unexpected discrepancies arise due to strenuous amounts of flying. The Quality Assurance work center is composed of maintenance technicians in various aviation ratings. These individuals administer and prepare maintenance instructions, review incoming technical directives, and participate as members of a technical task force that investigate trouble areas in fleet-wide aircraft maintenance. They also supervise and inspect the squadron’s aircraft maintenance regime and regularly complete audits on work centers for specific maintenance programs. @usnavy @marines #aviation #flynavy

DID YOU KNOW? Good afternoon #BlueAngel fans. Did you know that Blue Angel’s F/A-18 Super Hornets main landing gear tires are serviced up to 290 pounds per square inch of nitrogen, that’s five times more than the average everyday car. Which is usually between 30 to 55 psi of air. We use nitrogen gas to help maintain stable pressure under extreme temperatures during high speed takeoffs & landings. The Airframes work center is comprised of Navy Aviation Structural mechanics and Marine Corps F/A-18 fixed-wing aircraft airframe mechanics specializing in hydraulics and aircraft structure. These personnel maintain flight controls, hydraulic systems, landing, arresting and catapult gear, and perform composite/sheet metal structural repairs of the F/A-18 Super Hornet. During the air show season, an airframes representative accompanies the C-130 crew as a safety observer in the Fat Albert portion of the flight demonstration. @usnavy @marines #aviation #flynavy
