Time to unlearn the script. 🔥 We’ve been trained to memorize symptoms and manage labels, but real healing starts when we ask better questions. Why is the body struggling? What’s driving the imbalance? Who benefits when we only treat the surface? It’s not rebellious to question the system - it’s responsible, and quite literally YOUR responsibility. Stop silencing symptoms and start investigating root causes. That’s where real health begins. As an RN, unlearning the system and relearning what health actually means has given me a completely different outlook on life, my career, and my wellbeing. If you are a healthcare worker and have no earthly idea how or where to start, comment “RESTORE” for my ebook on everything you need to do (and everything I did to get here). If you’re ready to just start and get certified, comment “FNA” and I’ll send you the link to my recommended course for LPN/RN/NP. (This is the 3rd course I have taken personally!) *This is not medical advice and is strictly for educational purposes* #functionalmedicine #holistichealth #wellnessnurse #functionalnursing #nursesofinstagram

My client hadn’t slept past 3am in over five years. Five years. Not a minute past 3am. She was doing everything “right”… Sleep hygiene. Cutting caffeine. Eating well. Trying to stay calm. Taking medication from her doctor just to fall asleep. She had already worked with a functional medicine practitioner. She had seen a nutritionist. She had been put on a restrictive diet. And still — every night — 3am. When I looked at her functional lab results, the picture became very clear. Her results showed: Overgrowth of bacteria in the gut. Mineral depletion. Low hormones. Neurotransmitter imbalances. Lead toxicity. So no — this wasn’t because she wasn’t trying hard enough. It wasn’t because she needed another bedtime routine. And it wasn’t because she needed to be more disciplined. Her body was waking her up for a reason. I told her the fix was simple in theory — but it would take around six months of structured work to rebuild the body properly. This is why I don’t care how healthy you think you’re eating. Or how often you exercise. Or how perfect your sleep hygiene is. Until I see your functional lab results, we are only guessing. Because the effort means nothing if you’re solving the wrong problem. If you’re waking at 3am every night, your body isn’t broken. It’s giving you data. And the right testing can show us exactly where to start. For women and men aged 45-65 If you’re stuck in this loop and this sounds familiar... I’ve put together a free webinar where I break this down in a very simple way. Comment SLEEP and I’ll send it to you. #insomnia #sleepexpert #functionalmedicine

Fatty liver isn’t permanent. Most doctors just don’t have a plan to reverse it. We do. Diet changes. Targeted supplements. Root cause approach. 5 months. Fully reversed. Confirmed on imaging. Your liver can heal itself, if you stop overwhelming it and start supporting it. Comment LIVER and I’ll send you the exact protocol. 👇 #functionalmedicine #longevity #liver

“Peps aren’t FDA approved.” Neither is your collagen powder. Or fish oil. Or creatine. Or that glass of wine on Friday. Or your matcha. 🍵 FDA-approved and FDA-regulated are not the same conversation. We interact with non-FDA-regulated products every single day. Supplements, cosmetics, wellness products, even energy drinks. The difference is understanding risk, sourcing, education, and proper oversight. The smarter questions: ✨ Where is it sourced? ✨ Who is supervising the protocol? ✨ Were labs run before starting? ✨ Is it the right tool for the right person? “It’s not FDA approved” is a lazy argument. Let’s have a better one. Comment SMART for the questions I always run before patients start a pep protocol ⬇️⬇️⬇️ ⚠️For informational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.Always consult your qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet or health routine. #wellnesseducation #functionalmedicine #cellularhealth #stlouismo #womenwellness

If you’ve ever noticed that pink/orange “slimy” residue in your shower… it’s likely Serratia marcescens 🦠 This bacteria thrives in warm, damp, low-ventilation areas— like shower grout, curtains, and drains. While it’s common, it’s not something you want to let build up. Serratia forms biofilms, which help it stick to surfaces and resist simple rinsing. In some cases, it can even contribute to: • skin irritation • respiratory issues • infections (especially in more vulnerable individuals) This matters even more if you’re dealing with CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome). CIRS occurs when the immune system becomes chronically overactivated after exposure to biotoxins (mold, Actinobacteria, Cyanobacteria, endotoxins, etc.) When your immune system is already dysregulated, ongoing exposure to things like microbial biofilms + indoor contaminants can act as a constant inflammatory trigger. This can worsen symptoms like: • fatigue • brain fog • headaches • immune reactivity The goal here isn’t fear, it’s awareness 🤍 Simple habits can make a big difference: • remove organic buildup before disinfecting • improve ventilation • keep moisture under control For sensitive individuals, even small exposures can have a big impact on how you feel day-to-day. Follow me for more education on CIRS, mold exposure, and how to support your healing environment 🤍 Comment “clean” for everything I use to clean my shower 🚿 #cirs #moldillnessawareness #functionalmedicine #indoorairquality #environmentalhealth

7 labs. Most women have never had a single one of them run. P.S. Comment MASTERCLASS and join me tomorrow night — Thursday at 6:30PM CST. I’m walking through exactly what these markers mean and what to do when your standard panel says normal but your body says otherwise. 👇🏾 The standard panel detects disease. These 7 detect dysfunction. There is a lot of suffering in the space between those two words. Fasting insulin — glucose can be completely normal while your insulin works four times harder than it should. That gap drives midsection weight, afternoon crashes, and brain fog for years before anyone flags it. Free T3 — TSH tells your thyroid to produce hormone. Free T3 is what your cells actually use. You can have a perfect TSH and still be running at 60% thyroid output. Ferritin — optimal is 50-100. Most women with fatigue and hair loss are sitting at 15-22 and being told they’re fine. Homocysteine — a downstream sign of B12 and folate deficiency even when serum B12 looks normal. Connected to brain fog, cognitive slowing, and mood. Changes the entire conversation about why the B12 supplement isn’t working. hs-CRP — has to be specifically requested. Most women have never had it run. Chronic low-grade inflammation on this marker is connected to weight resistance, fatigue, and hormonal disruption simultaneously. DHEA-S — your stress resilience hormone. Depleted in almost every chronically exhausted woman I see. Almost never ordered. RDW — on your standard CBC right now. Above 14 has been well correlated with gluten sensitivity nobody has ever tested for. Seven numbers. One complete picture. Save this. Bring it to your next appointment. Comment MASTERCLASS — tomorrow night, Thursday 6:30PM CST. 👇🏾 #functionalmedicine #hormonebalance #guthealth #testnotguess

If you’re like me and you’re only going back to school because you don’t think you have other options, think again. if you don’t know me.. Hi! My name is Jamie! I am a registered nurse, functional medicine practitioner, FNP school dropout, nurse entrepreneur and educator. I dropped out of NP school when I realized the career I wanted didn’t necessarily require it, and now that is what I educate about and show you how to do it too! One year ago I was waiting for my start date to roll around so I could just suck it up and get it all over with. Today, I own my own agency and consulting business, work with some of the best functional medicine practitioners out there, see my own patients and clients, and have seemed to hit the jackpot on opportunities. Had I not took a leap of faith, I’d still be working travel contracts and finishing up my second semester of FNP school… 💀 This is your sign that being a nurse doesn’t have to be your identity, but it is your leverage - use it. There’s so many options and opportunities out there waiting for you but only if you have the guts to seek them out. If you want to learn more about functional medicine as a registered nurse, you’re in the right place 🌿🩺 I had no idea what I was doing a year ago because the resources weren’t available, so I made it for you. Comment “RESTORE” for my ebook on everything you need to do (and everything I did to get here). If you’re ready to just start and get certified, comment “FNA” and I’ll send you the link to my recommended course for LPN/RN/NP. 👩‍⚕️ Most doctors ask: “Are you going to the bathroom?” 🧠 Functional practitioners ask: “What does it look like?” 🔍 Because your stool can tell us a lot about what’s happening upstream: 🛟 Floating → fat malabsorption, low bile, pancreatic enzyme insufficiency 🟠 Orange → bile flow issues, gallbladder sluggishness ⚪️ Pale/clay → very low bile output 🟤 Very dark brown → bile concentration, sluggish flow 🧫 Mucus → gut lining irritation, inflammation, microbiome imbalance 🐐 Hard pellets → slow motility, dehydration, low magnesium, low fiber diversity 💧 Loose stool → inflammation, infection, food sensitivities, bile acid issues 🌽 Undigested food → low stomach acid or low digestive enzymes 🔥 Burning stool → bile acids irritating the colon 🤢 Very foul smelling → dysbiosis, protein fermentation, microbial imbalance ⚠️ This is why gut work is never just: “Take a probiotic.” 🔬 We look at: 🧩 digestion 🟢 bile flow 🦠 microbiome 🔥 inflammation ➡️ motility 💡 Your stool is one of the most underrated health tests. 🤍 If your gut feels off and you can’t figure out why, this is exactly what we help our clients investigate and fix. 🔗 → Link in bio to work with us. #guthealth #healthygut #guthealthmatters #functionalmedicine #dietitian
