Blanche of Bourbon was only 14 when she married Peter of Castile, a political alliance meant to secure peace between France and Castile. Within days of the wedding, Peter abandoned her and returned to María de Padilla, the woman he openly treated as his true wife. To justify Blanche’s removal, Peter accused her of treason — a charge never proven and widely viewed by contemporaries as a pretext. Blanche was moved between isolated royal fortresses, kept under guard, and denied any formal trial. Despite repeated appeals from the French crown and the powerful Bourbon family, Peter refused to release her or publicly clear her name. After years of confinement, Blanche died in 1361, around age 22. Officially, her death was attributed to illness. However, multiple medieval chroniclers reported persistent rumors that she was quietly killed on the king’s orders. No investigation followed. No one was punished. Four years later, Peter himself was overthrown and killed by his half-brother Henry of Trastámara, who restored Blanche’s honor and recognized her as a wronged queen. Justice, at last — but far too late for the girl whose crown became her prison. #BlancheOfBourbon #MedievalHistory #GirlHistory #HerStory

In 1967, women weren’t allowed to run the Boston Marathon. So @kathrineswitzer registered as “K.V. Switzer” — and showed up anyway. A few miles in, race official Jock Semple spotted her and tried to physically rip off her bib number (261) to force her out of the race. She didn’t stop. Her teammates shielded her. She kept running. She crossed the finish line in 4 hours and 20 minutes — becoming the first woman to officially complete the race with a registered bib. Five years later, in 1972, the Boston Marathon officially opened to women. Sometimes progress doesn’t politely wait for permission. Sometimes it pins on a number and runs anyway. We’ve been told for too long that if we just worked harder, spoke softer, or followed the right "checklist," the world would finally start to feel fair. It’s a lie. The truth is that we are navigating a world built on power dynamics that were never designed for our sovereignty. PowHer Circles isn't another self-help group—it’s a space for collective unlearning and evidence-based resistance. Led by an expert with 20+ years in gender equality, we’re moving past "awareness" and into the critical analysis required to reclaim our space in our families, our communities, and our own lives. Stop trying to fit into a box that was built to keep you small. In 1967, Kathrine Switzer became the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon. At the time, women were not permitted to participate in long-distance races. Switzer registered using her initials, K. V. Switzer, and ran with an official bib number. Mid-race, a race official attempted to physically remove her from the course, insisting women were incapable of running a marathon. The moment was photographed and became one of the most iconic images in sports history. She finished the race anyway. Her run exposed the absurdity and violence of gender discrimination in sports. In 1972, women were officially allowed to compete in the Boston Marathon. Switzer’s act of resistance helped change athletic policy worldwide and redefined what women were “allowed” to do with their bodies. #girlpowerusa #womeninhistory #breakingbarriers #genderequality #herstory kathrine switzer, boston marathon, women in sports, gender discrimination, sports equality, feminist history, women athletes, breaking stereotypes, access and inclusion, resistance through sport, women’s rights, historical moments, empowerment, representation matters, social change, girl power usa

Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie (1867–1934) was a woman far ahead of her time. She became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, the first person to win two Nobel Prizes, and remains the only person to ever win Nobel Prizes in two different sciences: Physics and Chemistry. A pioneer of modern physics, Curie also broke barriers in education, becoming one of the first women to earn a doctorate in France during a time when women were often excluded from universities. ✨ A legacy of brilliance, courage, and history-changing impact. 🎥 Credit: via YouTube Shorts #MarieCurie #WomenInHistory #WomenInScience #WomenEmpowerment #FemalePioneers #TrailblazingWomen #HistoryMakers #WomenWhoLead #InspirationalWomen #ScientificLegacy #NobelPrize #Physics #Chemistry #BreakingBarriers #EmpoweredWomen #HerStory #LegendaryWomen #IconicWomen #WomenWhoChangedTheWorld #SheelaNaGigPodcast

In 1946, women in Italy voted for the first time after gaining suffrage. Many reportedly removed their lipstick before casting their ballots. They feared the marks might stain the paper and invalidate their vote. But the act carried deeper symbolism beyond just caution. It reflected how seriously women took their newly earned political voice. After years of exclusion, even the smallest detail felt important. A quiet moment that showed how hard-won rights are treated with care and dignity. #WomenHistory #RightToVote #ItalyHistory #WomenEmpowerment #HerStory

#Jezebel was a ninth-century BCE #Phoenician princess who became queen of the northern kingdom of #Israel through marriage to King Ahab. Her story, told in 1 and 2 Kings, portrays her as a powerful and controversial figure whose promotion of Phoenician religion brought her into violent conflict with Israel’s prophets. #fyp #bibical #herstory #didyouknow

My academic and professional life has always been led by burning questions. l’ve woven through different fields of study and wildly different career paths. From the outside, this could look chaotic or dismembered. For me, every step has always had the same motivation behind it: understand how culture e and power is built and find any means possible to push toward the redistribution of it. So if you’re looking for soft and cozy tidbits about gods of the past, that’s not really what do. I do powerhouse packed stories in archetypes that are so dangerously revolutionary that they have been all but completely lost. And I teach you how to nurse them back to life. #feralfeminine #herstory #archetypes #josephcampbell #mythological

Bold ideas often begin long before they are fully understood or accepted. Aisha Mustafa’s concept challenges traditional limits of propulsion, showing how curiosity and imagination can push science toward possibilities that once seemed impossible. Her approach explores complex quantum principles, aiming to harness energy in ways that could redefine space travel. Even if still theoretical, such thinking drives innovation and encourages deeper exploration into the unknown areas of physics. Scientific progress is built on ideas that are questioned, tested, and refined over time. Not every concept is immediately proven, but each one contributes to expanding knowledge and opening new directions for research and discovery. This reminds us that innovation requires patience and belief. Some ideas may take years to validate, but their potential impact can reshape the future. Progress begins with those willing to think differently and challenge existing boundaries.
