My favorite non-math exit ticket: because, but, so ✨ I explicitly taught each word first at the beginning of the year in terms of writing and expanding sentences (what it does, how it changes a sentence), and we did lots of practice. Now students can use them independently to show their thinking and understanding: “Because” = explain 🧠 “But” = contrast ⚖️ “So” = result 🔗 It works across any subject and gives me a quick, clear snapshot of their understanding!
