You understand SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, JOINs and it all makes sense in context. And then someone drops a real problem in front of you in an interview and you freeze. Not because you do not know SQL. But because knowing SQL and solving problems with SQL are genuinely different skills. Interviews will never ask you to define a JOIN. They will give you two messy tables and ask you to pull a specific insight from them. They will ask you to handle NULLs, write subqueries, or find the second highest value without using a built in function. These problems require pattern recognition that only comes from consistent hands on practice. HackerRank is the platform I used personally for SQL practice and it is where I recommend every fresher to go after finishing their course. The way the points and star system works actually keeps you motivated. Solve questions every day and aim for five stars. That level of practice is genuinely enough for entry level data analyst interviews. The key is accuracy first, then speed. Do not rush through easy questions. Understand why your answer works and what would break it. This is Day 11 of my 30 Days Series.
