And now time for the healthy puppy visit in room 2. . . Most people will encounter 3-5 traumatic experiences in their lifetime. Healthcare professionals encounter 3-5 a shift. . Vets have a 4x high suicide rate than the general public. . A lot of that is this rollercoaster of emotions each day and learning how to cut it off and go to the next room because you’re late now. . . So when people say we are just in it for the money. Or big pharma pays us in vaccines or food companies paid off our tuition, it compounds onto the daily trauma. . If you’re a healthcare worker, please take a moment to process the trauma. Feel it. . Disclaimer- this event did happen to me. But not at the exact time of this recording. That felt like it would be in bad taste. . @explainingourhealth
Q-tips often make earwax problems worse because instead of removing wax, they usually push it deeper into the ear canal. When you insert a cotton swab, the wax in the outer part of the ear gets compressed and shoved closer to the eardrum, where it can harden and become impacted. This can block sound, cause pressure, and even lead to temporary hearing loss or ringing. The ear is designed to clean itself by slowly moving wax outward as you talk and chew. Using Q-tips interferes with this natural process and can irritate the delicate skin inside the ear, increasing the risk of inflammation or infection. For safer care, it’s best to clean only the outer ear and let the inner ear handle wax removal on its own, or use safer methods recommended by healthcare professionals.

This clip? It’s a charge nurse stepping in when a patient becomes abusive toward her staff. And here’s what most people don’t see: Healthcare professionals don’t just manage clinical complexity. They manage human volatility. Fear. Pain. Addiction. Entitlement. Trauma. Grief. Burnout. All in one shift. We talk a lot about patient satisfaction scores. We don’t talk enough about psychological safety for the people delivering the care. That nurse wasn’t “losing her cool.” She was drawing a boundary. Leadership in healthcare isn’t just calm voices and policy manuals. Sometimes it’s: • Protecting your team in real time • Regulating your own nervous system under threat • Making it clear what behavior is not acceptable You can be compassionate. And firm. You can care deeply. And still say, “This stops now.” If we want high-performing teams in healthcare, we have to stop pretending emotional regulation is optional. It’s not soft. It’s protective. And the leaders who learn how to balance empathy with boundaries? They’re the ones their teams will run through walls for. ✨ Now working with physician leaders & healthcare executives in 2025–2026 👉🏼 Comment “EQ” if you want practical tools for leading with clarity, composure, and influence 🩺 Follow @healthcareleadershipcoach for real-world leadership insights in healthcare Gina | Executive Coach, Founder Centro Forza Group.

Forty percent. Off the top. Before she saw a dollar. She found out when she filed her taxes. "How did you not know?" I asked. Not as a judgment. As a genuine question. "Because they don't tell you," she said. "The contract is 40 pages." "I'm a nurse. Not a lawyer." "I read the pay rate. I signed." "And the benefits?" I asked. "Independent contractors don't get benefits," she said. "Which I found out when I needed to use them." I shook my head. "And the agency's response?" I asked. "It's in the contract," she said. "Page 31." She said it the way you repeat something that still feels unreal. "So what are you doing now?" I asked. "Looking for another agency," she said. "And researching their contracts more carefully." "Which will be different wording," I said, "for the same structure." She looked at me. "Probably," she said quietly. "Because the model isn't the agency," I said. "The model is the industry." "And you can't contract your way out of a model that's built to extract." "So what do I do?" she asked. "You build something where you are the agency," I said. "Where the percentage is yours." "Where page 31 is written by you." Her eyes widened slightly. "Is that actually possible?" she asked. "It's what I did," I said. Comment FREEDOM and I'll show you how healthcare professionals are building income streams where they stop being the product and start being the owner.

“Autism was rare in the 1960s” - yes, when definitions, awareness, and screening changes, rates can too. Imagine that…I need to share this with @hhsgov @robertfkennedyjr Respect to all the families, advocates, researchers, therapists, healthcare professionals, educators out there who are doing what they can to spread awareness about autism, provide resources, and help sparkling neurodivergent humans live to their greatest potential. Scientists believe autism is caused by an interplay of genetics and environmental factor and even still there is so much work to be done. The rising cases is partially, if not, mostly attributed to a broadening of the diagnosis from autism to autism spectrum disorder, increase awareness, increase screening. there are still multiple ongoing studies, looking at other risk factors. One thing is clear, however, based on a mountain of research, there is no evidence that vaccines cause autism - any research, including that conducted by RFK Jr and scientists, needs to be transparent, designed without confirmation bias, and removed from any special interest #autism #vaccineswork #autismspectrumdisorder #rfkjr #autismacceptance

My relationship with International Women’s Day has fluctuated a lot over the years. From blasting Beyoncé and tagging all the strong women in my life with empowering quotes and the hashtag #womensupportingwomen, to being straight up filled with female rage, I’ve felt it all. Don’t get me wrong, I freakin’ love celebrating women. What we’ve achieved over the course of history is nothing short of remarkable, and that’s something that should be recognised every single day. But let’s not confuse that with victory, because the truth is we’re not there yet. Australian women remain significantly more disadvantaged across key indicators of inequality. Woman still carry majority of the unpaid work in households. Women are more likely to be dismissed by healthcare professionals. It’s estimated that at its current rate, it will take at least another 21 years to close the gender pay gap. Women continue to be underfunded and underrepresented in research. It costs more to live and exist as a woman because of he Pink Tax. Only 36% of major characters in 2025’s biggest films were women. 1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime, a statistic that’s had barely shifted in recent years. And up to 92% of women report feeling concerned for their safety whilst running or walking after dark. Don’t even get me started on how much worse this is for women of colour, and the LGBTIQA+ community. So this International Women’s Day, I channeled my female rage into action. Last night, @hypegirlsocialclub reclaimed the night. Over 100 girlies bought a ticket, and together we raised over $1800 for @whiteribbonaust As a woman, sometimes it feels like I’m screaming into the void. And this might just be a drop in the ocean, but maybe that’s how we begin to shift the tide. So tonight, I’m allowing myself to take the W. For the women who showed up, and for all the people and brands who made it possible. There is still so much to be angry about, and work still to be done. But last night was a reminder that balancing the scales starts with showing up 🤍 #internationalwomensday #iwd #community #hypegirlsocialclub

You’re about to file your 2025 taxes — make sure you’re not missing these deductions. The tax law changed last year, and a LOT of healthcare professionals have no idea they qualify for: • Up to $12,500 overtime deduction • $40K SALT cap (huge if you worked in CA, NY, NJ) • New HSA eligibility rules • Standard deduction These aren’t “maybe next year” changes. They apply to the income you earned in 2025 — the return you’re filing now. With 20+ years in tax and several years focused specifically on healthcare professionals, I make sure you’re not leaving money on the table. Beginning this week with a heavy heart 💔 In memory of baby Nkanu, whose tragic passing has left an indelible mark on our hearts, I feel compelled to address the urgent healthcare crisis that led to this unimaginable loss. 💔 To Chimamanda , IV my dear sister Anthea the entire Adichie,Esege and Nwandu, families, my deepest sympathies go out to you during this time of sorrow. The loss of a child is a pain that no family should endure Ozo emezina ‼️ The healthcare system in Nigeria is at a critical juncture. The recent loss of baby Nkanu highlights a pattern of gross negligence and a lack of accountability within our medical facilities. ➡️It is important to point out the systemic problems to allow us address these issues 1️⃣Inadequate Staffing and Training 2️⃣Lack of Patient Care Standards and Protocols 3️⃣ Adequate Governance and Accountability ✅What we Need ⚫️We need strong regulatory frameworks and health policies in place to ensure accountability and quality assurance in healthcare facilities. ⚫️Regular audits and evaluations to help maintain high standards of care. ⚫️We need to empower regulatory bodies to enforce standards and hold healthcare facilities accountable for #negligence. ⚫️We need to consider establishing independent oversight committees to monitor compliance. ⚫️Create systems for reporting medical errors and adverse events without fear of retribution. This can help identify areas for improvement and enhance patient safety. ⚫️Continuous Professional Development Implement #mandatory ongoing training for healthcare professionals to ensure they stay updated on best practices, new treatments, and technologies. Let us make 2026 a year of accountability, prioritizing #patientsafety and #quality care. We cannot allow negligence to continue unchecked. We must unite to ensure that no family experiences the heartache that has befallen baby Nkanu's loved ones.
