Used to feel embarrassed about this stuff. Now, I call it grown woman energy. 1. I walk laps during soccer practice instead of sitting and scrolling. And yep, I’m usually the only parent doing it. 2. I bring my own food to places like theme parks, school events, and malls. Not trying to survive off soft pretzels and sadness. 3. I eat before social events so I’m not feral when the food finally shows up. 4. I eat the same breakfast and lunch most days because my brain is busy enough. 5. Frozen veggies and pre-cooked proteins? Fully part of my survival plan. 6. I scope the menu ahead of time and already know what I’m getting. 7. I eat when I’m hungry, not when it’s convenient for everyone else. 8. I pass on food that doesn’t sound good to my body even if it’s “special” or someone’s grandma made it. 9. I leave early and choose sleep over being fun. I said what I said. 10. I care more about hitting my steps and protein than crushing some workout that leaves me wrecked. None of this is fancy or that impressive. But this is what actually works in perimenopause. I’m not trying to white-knuckle my way through life anymore. I’m building a body I can actually live in. One that feels steady, strong, and not like it’s falling apart. This stuff doesn’t make me boring. It makes me consistent. And consistency changes your body especially when hormones are shifting and your plate is full. If you’ve been trying to be “chill” about food and fitness but keep paying for it later… You don’t need more discipline. You need a better system. La proteína deja de ser opcional y se vuelve clave para: ✔️ Mantener masa muscular ✔️ Estabilizar glucosa ✔️ Evitar picos de hambre ✔️ Apoyar un metabolismo más lento y más sensible al estrés Y cuando viajas: menos sueño + más cortisol + horarios desordenados = combo perfecto para inflamación 👉 Si eliges pasta (carbohidrato solo), es mucho más probable que termines con más hambre, antojos y energía inestable 👉 Si priorizas proteína, le das a tu cuerpo estabilidad en medio del caos No es dieta. Es estrategia hormonal 🙌🏼 Algo que cambié en mi alimentación fue aprender a usar los alimentos (y los macros) a mi favor y de mis hormonas, sin vivir restringida.
