Eating real, whole foods shouldn’t be controversial but here we are. When over 70% of Americans are overweight or obese, when chronic disease affects 6 in 10 adults, when type 2 diabetes and hormonal imbalances have become normalized… maybe it’s time to question what we’ve accepted as “normal” eating. Real food isn’t the entire answer. But it’s a powerful starting point. As moms, we set the foundation for the next generation. It’s worth looking at what we’re normalizing in our homes… the patterns we create now shape what our children reach for. What they rely on. Their entire relationship with nourishment. This isn’t about perfection or restriction. It’s about remembering that nourishment is supposed to be simple. And that we have the power to shift what “normal” looks like for our kids. #healthyliving #healthymom

If you want your kids to treat others well, they have to see you treat others well. If you want your kids to say please and thank you, they have to hear you say please and thank you. If you want your kids to eat nutrient dense, real food, they have to see you eat it. If you want your kids to move and exercise, they have to see you move and exercise. If our words are not followed up with anything, they will not matter. Don’t miss the part about protein shakes best practices‼️ This post has very little to do with what exactly I eat and when I eat it, as meal frequency and quantity don’t really matter.. this post has more to do with driving home foundational concepts that are going to make you healthier and more consistent over time. 1. Think every meal, I need to try to hit ~30g of protein, then build the rest of your meals around that. This isn’t just about absolute protein concentrations but the amino acids within the protein source you choose. The type and quality really does matter. Whole Eggs are elite! “3 eggs or go home” 2. If you train in the morning, you do NOT need to eat before a workout. Make sure you had a nourishing + high protein dinner the night before and just replenish well after your workout. (I’ve changed my mind about this and there’s a lot of misleading info out there) 3. Leftovers are king when it comes to goals and time management. Eat the same meals on repeat. Not every meal needs to be new and exciting. 4. Try to get your workout in during the front half of the day. For literally no other reason than, you’re less likely to skip it. Yes, it does help with energy levels and confidence later on in the day when we do something hard and get blood flowing early. This has a shadow side for parents though, if you are chronically sleep deprived, you need to prioritize sleep which makes morning workouts super hard. Hope this is helpful!
