But because of avoidable choices.🚫 Here’s what I would NEVER put in a bathroom, especially before listing a home: 🚫Wallpaper, especially floral, textured, or heavy accent styles. Buyers instantly start thinking how hard it will be to remove. It can also make the space feel smaller and dated. 🚫Carpet in the bathroom. Yes... it still exists 😬 Nothing signals deferred maintenance faster. 🚫Dark paint with no natural light. A small bathroom with dark walls looks like a cave in photos and buyers scroll right past it. 🚫Oversized vanity in a small space. Cramped walkways feel like a layout issue and buyers mentally subtract value. 🚫Pedestal sink with no storage. Pretty? Yes. Practical? Not for most buyers, especially families. 🚫Outdated builder grade light fixtures. A simple upgrade can completely change the space and buyers notice when it’s skipped. 🚫Heavy window treatments. Bathrooms should feel clean, bright, and open. Blocking natural light does the opposite.
