Making homemade soda using fruit, water, and honey in a mason jar is a fun and healthy way to create a naturally carbonated and probiotic-rich beverage! Here’s a basic recipe to guide you through the process— Ingredients: - Fresh fruit of your choice (e.g., berries, citrus fruits, apples) - Filtered water - Honey (or any other natural sweetener of your preference) - Mason jar with lid Dissolve honey in water in your mason jar. Add any fruit of choice. Pick your kids current favorite to start! Seal the mason jar tight and let sit in your pantry at room temp for 2-7 days. After a couple of days, you may want to “burp” the jar. I don’t ever do this. I just ferment the fruit for a few days until I notice bubbles. Once there’s a good amount of bubbles, I put it in the fridge to slow down the process. The longer you ferment, the fizzier the soda will become. Just remember to keep an eye on the jar and check for signs of fermentation, such as bubbles or pressure building up. This really couldn’t be any easier! And it’s delicious. We love taking it on outdoor-picnics. #healthykids #stayathomemom #preschoolactivities #natureinspired #homemadesoda #fermenteddrinks #recipesforkids #waldorfmom

Made a batch of refreshing mosambi soda at home — using a ginger bug! No artificial stuff, just natural fermentation magic. 🌟 Lightly tangy, naturally sweet, and packed with the kind of real fizz you just can’t find in store-bought sodas. 🍹 It’s super easy to make at home — just a few simple steps and a little patience! ✨ Plus, you can customize the flavor by adding fresh herbs like mint, basil, or even a splash of other citrus juices. 🍃🍊 Ingredients: ➔ Fresh mosambi (sweet lime) juice ➔ Ginger bug (starter) ➔ Sugar (for the yeast to feed) Tips & Tricks for the Perfect Fizzy Soda: 🍋 Make sure your ginger bug is very active — it should be bubbly and smell pleasantly yeasty. 🍋 Use Kilner clip-top bottles or any good swing-top bottles — they seal tightly and help build natural carbonation. 🍋 After bottling the soda, add sugar and keep it at room temperature for two days and then refrigerate and serve chilled! 🍋 Burp the bottles daily to release excess pressure and avoid soda explosions. 🍋 Once fizzy to your liking, refrigerate to slow down fermentation. 🍋 Strain your juice pulp once or twice depending on how smooth you want your soda to taste! 🍋 Before opening your ready soda, keep the bottle in a wide big bowl so even if it overflows, none of the soda is wasted. 🍋 After fermentation, handle the bottles gently — do not shake before opening to prevent messy overflows! Homemade soda just hits different! 🫧 Would you try making your own? 👀👇 [soda at home, homemade soda, ginger bug, fermentation, fermented drinks, gut healthy, gut friendly, probiotic soda] #homemadesoda #fermenteddrinks #gingerbug #carbonation #sweetlimesoda #diydrinks #fermentationlove #soda #homemade #fermentation #probiotic #gutfriendly #gut #guthealthmatters #guthealthtips #guthealing #probiotics #fizz #sodapop #explosion #fermentedfoods #drinks #summerdrinks #explorepage✨ #explore #fyp #fypシ #foodporn #gingerbugsoda #fizzy

There’s so much confusion around making a ginger bug 🐛🫚 but I promise it’s easier than it sounds! In this reel, I’m breaking it all the way down so you can start making your own gut-loving, naturally fizzy 🫧 sodas at home! 🌿✨ 💥 What’s a Ginger Bug?
It’s a wild fermented starter that captures natural yeasts from the air using ginger + sugar! Once ready, it acts just like a soda starter perfect for homemade fizzy drinks. 🍷 🫚How to Make a Ginger Bug:
In a sterilised jar, 🫙 mix:
• 2 cups filtered water 💦
• 1 tbsp grated or chopped organic ginger (SKIN ON!)
• 1 tbsp sugar (or any sweetener of your choice) Stir well until the sugar dissolves and leave it in a warm, dark spot.
🧡 Every day, around the same time, feed it:
• 1 tbsp ginger
• 1 tbsp sugar Keep going daily until you see a foamy top layer usually between 2 to 10 days. That’s when you know it’s alive and ready to use! 🫧 Once it’s ready, strain and use the liquid to make sodas! I’ve got tons of soda recipes coming your way, so stay tuned. 🌱 To maintain your ginger bug:
• Stir and strain out 1/4 cup of liquid (use this to make your soda).
• Discard or compost the strained ginger.
• Add back 1/4 to 1/3 cup sterilised water
• Feed it again with 1 tbsp ginger + 1 tbsp sugar
• Stir well, and that’s it! Refrigerate if you don’t plan to use it right away, and feed it once a week with the same ratio. Always bring to room temp before reusing! #GingerBug #FermentationJourney #NaturalSoda #GutHealth #ProbioticSoda #FermentedDrinks #HomemadeSoda #KitchenAlchemy #WildFermentation #FermentingBasics #GingerBugHowTo #DIYFermentation #MicrobiomeLove #SodaStarter #NaturalFizz #FermentWithMe #GingerBugStarter #HealthyDrinks #FermentationMadeEasy #RealFermentation

Making a soda at home is way easier than you think. Obviously it won’t taste like a Dr. Pepper but it’s super beneficial and tasty! 😋 How to make: GINGER BUG: Day 1: mix 2 cups of water (filtered/distilled), 2 tbsp chopped organic ginger (with peel), and 2 tbsp sugar in a clean container. Place lid on loosely and place it on your kitchen counter. Day 2-6: feed your bug daily with 1 tbsp ginger and 1 tbsp sugar. Mix throughly. The temp of your kitchen will affect the speed at which your ginger bug ferments. You’ll know it’s ready when it’s frothy on top and produces bubbles. To make the SODA: Use a clean sterilized bottle/jar. Add in 2 cups of juice of your choice (make sure it has some type of sugar). Next, strain your ginger bug with a fine mesh colander and add in 1 cup. Tighten lid very tight (try to use a flip top lid to prevent jars breaking 🫣). Let sit at room temp for 2-3 days. Burp your bottle daily. Then refrigerate before serving. If a bubbly ring is forming at the top of your liquid, you know it’s working. To keep you ginger bug going: When you use it too it off with water and feed it with 1 tbsp of ginger and sugar. Store your bug in the fridge and feed once a week, or keep it at room temperature and feed daily. #gingerbug #homemadesoda #homemade #madefromscratch #soda #sodapop #probiotics #fermented #fermentation #LearnOnTikTok #homesteading
