Probably my most anticipated post ever. 😂 Nothing makes me happier than being able to share what has worked for us over the entire spectrum of our math journey through K-12 homeschooling with 6 kids! Choosing a math curriculum can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re planning for multiple children across many years. There isn’t one “perfect” program. There are different tools for different learners, goals, and seasons of homeschooling. This list reflects our real K–12 experience in a large family homeschool — print curricula, online programs, early foundations, supplements, and widely recommended options. Many families mix and match successfully (including us). Strong math foundations matter because children don’t always know their future path from a young age. Doors to STEM fields, college admissions, trades, and many scholarships require algebra and beyond. Bookmark this for planning season, curriculum sales, or when someone asks, “What math should we use?” Also, please know that many of these companies offer free samples, downloads, or trials. Some may be available at your library in print or through the library's digital offerings. You'd also be surprised what you can find in a free little library, at the thrift store, or in the library bookshop! #homeschoolmath #mathcurriculum #homeschoolcurriculum #homeschoolplanning #homeschoolhighschool #secularhomeschool #classicalhomeschool #charlottemasonhomeschool #eclectichomeschool #rigoroushomeschool #k12homeschool #largefamilyhomeschool #homeschoolmom #homeschoolcommunity #homeschoolresources #matheducation #elementarymath #middleschoolmath #highschoolmath #algebraready #collegeprep #giftedhomeschool #homeschoolhelp #curriculumchoices #homeschoollife #homeeducation #homeschoolinspiration #homeschooltips #teachyourkids #ddchomeschool

Fractions to percentages? We’ve got this! 💪📚 Math can be tricky, but persistence pays off! 🧮✨ In this video, I’m working with my 7th grader to turn fractions into percentages. After a few examples, it finally clicked, and that lightbulb moment was everything! 💡💕 Homeschooling is all about love, patience, persistence, and celebrating those small victories. A little homeschool reality check 📚✨ My 4-year-old’s school books vs my 8-year-old’s school books. (This doesn’t include library books, read-alouds, worksheets, or anything on the computer.) Same homeschool, different seasons of learning—and both are exactly where they need to be. 💛 #homeschoollife #homeschooling #homeschoolmom #learningathome #childledlearning

This is our 4th year homeschooling, and I’m finally realizing I don’t have to fall for the traps. Here’s a few lessons I’ve learned … 1) You don’t have to have it all figured out before you start. Just start. You’ll figure it out as you go. I promise your kids will be fine. We had a plan when we started and changed the entire thing within the first 2 months. 2) You don’t have to finish the year in a curriculum that is clearly not working. I got a curriculum bundle for my 1st grader. We LOVED the Language arts, but the math was not engaging for him. We gave it about 2 months and then completely switched his math curriculum. This is why we homeschool! 3) There is no “behind”. My child is in a class of 1, so there is no “ahead” or “behind”. My 1st grader is using a Kindergarten Language Arts curriculum and a second grade Math curriculum because those levels are what meets him where he is. Most curriculums will have a placement test, and we use that when choosing our books. Homeschool is personalized 1 on 1 education. We get to make the rules, set the bar, and decide when to pivot. What’s a trap you aren’t falling for this year? #adventuresinhomeschool

I remember our teachers saying this all the time! I wonder what they say to the kids now? 🤣 I don’t mind math but I am thankful I’m not stuck doing long division or trying to remember how to multiply decimals and percents without a calculator! I’ve already had to relearn these things as a homeschool mom trying to teach my boys. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Confession: we learn the long way… but I also do let them use a calculator. 🙈 Feels pointless to make them do it all without a calculator. Do your kids do long division in school anymore? Or does everyone just use a calculator for everything?

This week, my first grader’s love for math has truly multiplied! After mastering times tables up to 12, we dove into all the different ways to solve multiplication problems. She had so much fun creating star arrays and learning the partial product method. Seeing her excitement for numbers grow is the best part of our homeschool journey! #Homeschooling #HomeschoolMath #FirstGrade

I recently started looking for a new math facts resource and after doing some research, I found one that teaches math facts in a really effective way. I love that it reinforces skills in a fun, game-like format instead of just drills, which makes a big difference for keeping my kids engaged and confident. Right now we’re only using the workbooks, but the Meet the Math Facts program also includes other resources that support learning in different ways — great for meeting kids where they are. I have these work books linked in bio. You can find them on Amazon or Rainbow Resources online ➕📚✨ #homeschooling #homeschool #homeschoolresources #mathfacts #mathfactsresources
