As we move toward barrier-free tolling, your vehicle’s passage is being watched by smart sensors—and the rules for unpaid tolls just got a major tech upgrade.
Key Highlights:
🔹 Digital E-Notices: If your toll isn't paid, you'll receive an automated e-notice via SMS or email with all the details of your passage.
🔹 The 72-Hour Rule: Act fast! If you pay the unpaid toll within 72 hours of the notice, you only pay the original amount. Miss the window, and you’ll have to pay TWICE the toll amount.
🔹 VAHAN Linking: Your toll history is now linked to the VAHAN database. Unpaid dues older than 15 days can lead to restrictions on vehicle-related services!
🔹 Transparent Redressal: Got a wrong notice? You have 72 hours to appeal online. If the authorities don't resolve it in 5 days, the claim lapses automatically.
🔹 Future-Ready: These rules are the backbone for upcoming barrier-free tolling, ensuring smoother journeys with high-tech enforcement.
