_AIt’s been a month since I graduated from my favourite place, and what feels like the hardest goodbye. This place truly changed me as a person.
I had actually manifested this, I had it on my vision board, my screen saver, I did every form of manifestation recommended by random people on the internet. Everyone in my friend group knew how badly I wanted to be here. The only question was how? I already had a running business, so why would I do an MBA?
And then, just like magic, just like fate, I found myself at ISB, still doing what I love, just in a whole new way.

SAI rejected students from IIM A, B, C and ISB during campus hiring because:
-> Rejection doesn’t always reflect one’s ability. Companies have a limited quota per campus (order board). Even strong candidates might get rejected if the quota is full.
-> Most rejections occur due to lack of confidence, despite good academic scores. Confidence requires practice, just like how we practice Quant or Finance. Yet, colleges often focus on communication skills alone, which isn’t enough.
Every student comes from different socio-economic backgrounds and has unique experiences, including past traumas, that can hold them back. That’s why custom mentoring is crucial.

And I have sat in an office bathroom
— door locked —
and cried.
Twice.
Here’s what broke me both times.
And what I learned.
MOMENT 1
First time was year 2 of my post ISB career.
A senior pulled me aside after a meeting
and said — in front of two colleagues —
“Yeh tujhse nahi hoga.”
Not privately. Not kindly.
Just — flatly. Publicly.
I nodded. Walked to the bathroom.
Locked the door.
Sat on the floor for 11 minutes.
IIT crack kiya tha.
ISB crack kiya tha.
Aur woh 8 words ne
sab kuch ek second mein
tod diya.
What I learned:
The people who humiliate publicly
are the most insecure people in the room.
His words said nothing about my ability.
They said everything about his fear.
I stayed. I delivered.
He left the company 8 months later.
MOMENT 2
Second time was much later.
Senior role. Big responsibility.
A project I had built from scratch —
handed to someone else
without a conversation.
Without an explanation.
An email. That’s it.
This one didn’t hurt like the first.
This one felt like erasure.
Like the work didn’t matter.
Like I didn’t matter.
I didn’t sit on the floor this time.
Just stood at the sink.
Looked in the mirror for a long time.
Asked myself —
“Do you actually want to be here?”
That question changed everything.
What I learned:
When a company makes you feel invisible —
that’s information.
The most important career decision
isn’t which job to take.
It’s which environment
brings out the best version of you.
And which one slowly erases it.
I left 4 months later.
THE THING NOBODY TELLS YOU
High-achievers don’t talk about this.
Because we’re supposed to be strong.
Because IIT trained us to solve, not feel.
Because ISB trained us to perform, not break.
So we lock the door.
We give ourselves exactly as long as we need.
And then we walk back out.
And nobody knows.
Agar tumne bhi kabhi woh door lock kiya hai —
tum akele nahi the.
Tum akele nahi ho.
Yeh weakness nahi thi.
Yeh human hona tha.
