Rosie Russell, Director of EHS and Sustainability at MeiraGTx, explains why safety leaders need to rethink that assumption. Her work focuses on helping organizations understand how different cognitive styles show up in real workplaces. In this clip, she makes a simple point that often gets overlooked. Meeting one neurodiverse person does not mean you understand neurodiversity. Each person’s experience is different. Russell uses the idea of “neuro spicy” to explain it. Just like a spicy meal, every combination is different. The same principle applies to how people think, process information, and respond to their environment. For safety professionals, that matters. If the goal is a safer workplace, leaders need to understand the individual in front of them, not rely on a single template.
