Many people assume that jumping on a moving object would cause you to fall behind, but this is a common misconception about motion. According to Newton’s First Law, an object in motion continues moving at the same velocity unless acted upon by an external force. When a person jumps on a moving truck, they already share the same forward speed. While in the air, there is no significant horizontal force acting to change that motion, so the person continues moving forward along with the truck. As long as the vehicle maintains a constant velocity, the jumper remains in the same frame of reference and lands in the same spot they took off from. This type of experiment provides a clear visual demonstration of inertia, showing that motion is carried with you, even when you leave the surface temporarily. This video features the DD Squad performing an exciting and daring physics experiment. It tests the concept of relative motion by having a jumper land on a trampoline mounted on a moving truck. How It Works It might look like a magic trick, but it is entirely explained by the laws of physics: Inertia and Velocity: The jumper's body matches the horizontal velocity of the truck before or during the jump. Because of inertia, the jumper continues to move forward at the same speed as the moving truck while airborne. Independent Motion: Vertical and horizontal motions are independent. While gravity pulls the jumper downward, their horizontal speed stays perfectly matched with the truck's speed. Frame of Reference: To an observer in the reference frame of the moving truck, the jumper appears only to be moving vertically, allowing them to land safely in the same position on the trampoline. credit ; @_ddsquad #DDSquad #Physics #Inertia #Stunt #ScienceExperiment

I Watched the whole video on the lead up to this experiment and was totally blown away. repost from techmedia.io In February 2026, the DD Squad stunt team executed a wild physics demo where one member was propelled backward off a flatbed truck moving at 80 km/h using a rubber-band-powered catapult. The launch velocity matched the truck’s speed exactly, nullifying his forward momentum—he seemed to freeze in place mid-air, standing tall for a split second, before dropping straight down and landing feet-first on the asphalt road as the truck zoomed ahead. The viral footage captured the surreal relative motion effect, with full safety gear ensuring he walked away unscathed. Follow techmedia.io for more #foryou #physics #inertia #stunt #danger

An egg-stra cool science trick to let your kids practice their karate chops!🥚✨ All you need is a bowl of water, a paper plate, a tp roll and an egg. Place the plate on the bowl, stand the roll on top and balance the egg on the roll. Then give the plate a quick push from the side and watch what happens… The egg drops straight into the water! What’s happening? It’s a great demonstration of inertia and gravity. Objects like the egg tend to stay at rest unless a force moves them. When the plate and roll are quickly moved away, the egg doesn’t move sideways with them - it briefly stays in place because of inertia. Then gravity pulls it straight down into the water. Newton’s First Law, or the Law of Inertia, states that an object will maintain its current state—either remaining at rest or moving at a constant velocity in a straight line—unless compelled to change by an external, unbalanced force. Essentially, matter has a natural resistance to changes in motion, a property directly dependent on its mass: the heavier the object, the greater its inertia and the more force required to alter its movement. #fyp #science #viral #physics #inertia

Ever noticed how your body jerks forward when a bus suddenly stops or how a ball keeps rolling until friction slows it down? That’s physics in action. Newton’s First Law of Motion explains that every object resists changes to its state of motion. This resistance is called Inertia. The reason stationary objects stay still and moving objects keep going unless an external force like friction, gravity, or impact intervenes. From seatbelts saving lives to planets maintaining their orbits, this simple law quietly governs motion everywhere in the universe. 🚀 🎯Follow @theoretical_mass For More Knowledgeable Contents. 🔔Turn On The Post Notification For Never miss any updates from @theoretical_mass 👤Tag Your Friends To Show This 💡If You would Like to read our post daily then follow us👇 @theoretical_mass @theoretical_mass @theoretical_mass This is used for educational purposes only. At first glance, it looks impossible. A man gets launched off a moving truck at 80 km/h and freezes mid air. His launch speed matches the truck’s velocity, canceling forward motion and making him appear suspended for a split second. What you’re seeing is inertia in real time , motion behaving exactly as physics predicts. Moments like this feel unreal because our brain expects chaos … But when velocity aligns perfectly, reality starts to look broken. In my view, this is the kind of physics people remember because it turns theory into something you can’t ignore. The Dzhanibekov Effect — When Rotation Flips Reality First observed in 1985 aboard Salyut 7 by cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov, this strange behavior is now known as the Dzhanibekov effect. At its core, it’s a phenomenon from classical mechanics: when a rigid object spins around its intermediate axis of inertia, the rotation becomes unstable—causing the object to suddenly flip 180 degrees, over and over again. In microgravity, this effect becomes incredibly clear. In this demonstration aboard the International Space Station, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot spins a simple T-handle tool—revealing a motion that looks chaotic, but is actually perfectly predictable. No tricks. No external forces. Just physics. A reminder that even in space— the laws of motion are always in control.
