In a candid account, he described the grim state of infrastructure and electricity during 1990–2005. With poor roads, minimal electricity supply, and collapsing law and order, daily life was severely impacted. Today, Bihar stands as a symbol of steady progress and leadership-led change. 👉🏼 From Darkness to Development Singh recalled that until 2005, 95% of villages lacked electricity poles, and power, when available, was celebrated like Diwali. Bihar had only 650 MW of power, of which 150 MW went to Nepal and another 150 MW to the railways. Roads were so damaged that travelling 100 km took five hours. “We’ve come a long way,” Singh said. 👉🏼 A State Reborn The state once suffered from systemic neglect, poor connectivity, and virtually no governance. Singh emphasised that consistent leadership and focused development efforts brought Bihar from the margins to mainstream progress. I chose to introduce my partner by changing the whole grammar and flow, breaking the usual format — “Amritsar, Punjab — from Mohinder Singh. Computer Science — pursuing Thapar.” Different segments. Different structure, Same person told in a new perspective. Because sometimes, leadership is about how creatively you represent someone else’s story.
