At 7 o’clock, a single pusher brings the miniature roulette table to life. Engineered exclusively by Jacob & Co., the mechanism is mounted on ultra-precise ball bearings, allowing the wheel to spin with remarkable speed and fluidity.
As the white ceramic ball dances across the surface before settling into its pocket, the experience feels less like horology and more like theatre.
But beneath the spectacle lies serious watchmaking.
The flying tourbillon—one of Jacob & Co.’s signature complications—suspends the regulating organ in a way that enhances both visual drama and mechanical precision.
By eliminating the upper bridge, the movement appears to float, creating a cinematic depth while maintaining optimal accuracy within the slimmed-down JCAM51 caliber.
Turn the watch over, and the artistry continues. The caseback mirrors the dial with engraved roulette pockets etched into precious metal, reinforcing the concept from every angle.
Even the tourbillon carriage is reimagined—its three arms forming the Jacob & Co. name, each letter placed within a red, black, or green roulette pocket.

A few weeks ago, while visiting the headquarters of @jacobandco in Geneva, I had the chance to go hands-on with a watch that genuinely stopped me in my tracks: the Opera Godfather 50th Anniversary. Inspired by The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola’s legendary masterpiece, this piece feels less like a wristwatch and more like a mechanical stage set.
Under its dramatically domed sapphire crystal, the watch is alive. My eyes were immediately drawn to the miniature grand piano, complete with a portrait of Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone. A hand-painted rose blooms at the center of the movement, while a discreet subdial styled like piano keys displays the time. But the real spectacle is the triple-axis flying tourbillon. Watching its concentric cages rotate—24, 48, and 180 seconds—creates a hypnotic, almost gravitational ballet. It’s mesmerizing in a way few complications truly are.
Then I pressed the pusher at 10 o’clock.
On demand, the watch plays Nino Rota’s immortal Love Theme from The Godfather. Two pinned cylinders strike a comb to produce the 120-note melody, transforming the watch into a miniature music box. Seeing the entire movement rotate 120 degrees in 30 seconds just to power the tune adds another layer of theatricality. It’s not background decoration; it’s a performance.
The 49mm white gold case is bold, unapologetically so, with laser-engraved film scenes along the flanks rendered in astonishing detail. Even winding the watch—via a violin-shaped crank—feels ceremonial.
At USD $600,000.00 and limited to 50 pieces, this isn’t about understatement. It’s about emotion, cinema, and mechanical excess fused into one kinetic sculpture. On the wrist, it doesn’t just tell time—it tells a story.

I finally had the chance to experience the @jacobandco Billionaire Double Tourbillon in person last month in Geneva during Watches & Wonders, and seeing it up close at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva completely changed my perception of what these ultra-high-jewelry watches are supposed to be.
The version I handled was covered in intense yellow diamonds, and the first thing that struck me was how warm the watch felt visually. Most fully pavé watches reflect light in a cold, icy way, but this one glows. The yellow diamonds almost look liquid under Geneva sunlight. Jacob & Co.’s invisible setting technique makes the stones appear uninterrupted, creating a seamless wall of color and brilliance that feels more like sculpture than traditional watchmaking. The brand spent years sourcing perfectly matched yellow diamonds for the Billionaire collection, which suddenly makes sense once you see the uniformity in person.
What surprised me most, though, was the movement. Beneath all the excess is legitimate haute horlogerie. The double flying tourbillon setup gives the watch real mechanical depth, constantly moving beneath the diamond architecture instead of disappearing behind it. The case is enormous, unapologetically so, yet the finishing and proportions somehow stop it from feeling cartoonish in person. It feels theatrical, but intentionally theatrical.
Meeting the Jacob & Co. team during the week of Watches & Wonders also helped contextualize the watch. These pieces are not trying to compete with understated Swiss dress watches. They exist to push gem-setting and watchmaking to absurd extremes. Whether someone loves or hates the aesthetic almost becomes irrelevant once the craftsmanship is in front of you.
I walked into the meeting expecting pure spectacle. I left understanding why the Billionaire collection has become such an icon of modern ultra-luxury watchmaking. It is excessive, outrageous, technically impressive, and impossible to ignore — which is exactly the point.

The Godfather II follows that philosophy. It takes one of the House’s most iconic timepieces and rebuilds it from the inside out. A new movement. A new case. A new level of integration between sound and time.
The Only Double Melody Musical Timepiece.
For the first time, a Jacob & Co. watch performs two musical melodies from The Godfather movie. Both compositions are programmed onto a single music box barrel, allowing them to be selected and played on demand through a fully integrated system.
Inside, the JCAM62 caliber brings together 510 components, excluding pins, working as a unified architecture rather than separate complications. A one minute flying tourbillon regulates time, while a comb with 18 steel teeth and a rotating pin-studded cylinder transform mechanical energy into music. With a precise shift of less than a millimeter, the mechanism transitions seamlessly between both melodies.
Nothing is added without purpose. Nothing exists on its own.
The case follows the same approach. A newly developed 42 x 44 mm curved rectangular design, inspired by Art Deco, introduces a more compact and controlled form while enhancing acoustics, ergonomics, and presence on the wrist.
This is not a continuation of what came before. It is a redefinition of it.
