3. The difference between homemade and couture clothing is pressing. Set the seams as you sew. Not just as the end of your project when you want the wrinkles out. This can impact the overall look of your garment.
4. Seam ripping is normal. In fact, there hasn’t been one project where I haven’t used it. Invest in one and know you’re not the only one who’s ripping out seams.
5. Always make notches before you cut into the fabric. Doing it after risks misalignment. You may be off by a centimeter but across multiple pieces that make your garment, the misalignment becomes centimeters.

EMI tried something new on this Diamond Pop quilt - really dense wavy stitch quilting. I’ve done 3/4” spaced lines a lot but never 1/2” like this. I love it! I used a minky backing so it’s still super drapey even with the dense quilting. 😍
